Ron Paul leads ALL ‘08 candidates with one-third of military contributions for Q2
The Spin Factor ^ | July 18, 2007

Posted on 07/19/2007 8:31:22 AM PDT by uxbridge

Earlier, we reported military contributions among Republican presidential candidates place Ron Paul on top at 49.5%, with nearly as much as all Republicans combined.

A more complete compilation of statistics by Phreadom shows that presidential candidate Ron Paul leads all 2008 presidential candidates in military contributions from the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and war veterans. Presidential candidate Ron Paul leads with an impressive one-third of all contributions this second quarter according to newly released data from the FEC.

Ron Paul currently has more cash-on-hand than John McCain this quarter, and this new information is indicative of Ron Paul’s success. It appears that our soldiers and war veterans have an affinity to, or inclination for Ron Paul’s non-intervention principle - defending our homeland and pursuing terrorists, but no nation-building.

Military contributions for Q2

Ron Paul 32.94%
John McCain 22.99%
Hillary Clinton 13.92%
Bill Richardson 7.03%
Barack Obama 6.85%
Mitt Romney 4.68%
Rudy Giuliani 3.06%
John Edwards 2.97%
Tom Tancredo 1.85%
Duncan Hunter 1.32%
Joe Biden 1.06%
Mike Huckabee 0.20%
Mike Gravel 0.09%
Sam Brownback 0.07%
Dennis Kucinich 0%
Tommy Thompson 0%
Chris Dodd 0%
Jim Gilmore 0%
John Cox 0%

It’s the same fishy drek. The methodology is dishonest. This means nothing in the real world—except to you Paulettes.

Yesterday on Washington Journal there was a call in to tell what candidate you sent money to. Ron Paul and another second tier person, that I can’t think of, got the most call-ins. I don’t think I heard a single call for the top-tier candidates.

Paul is not a winner, despite whatever donations he may get. He’ll be a sure loser in every State in the primaries, and he will not appear among the better vote getters. If wrong, I’ll eat a Big Mac, a man-killing foodstuff that I hate. That’s a bet. Any takers?

The tinfoil/blame America comments at one of the debates is the only reason he's gotten any attention at all.

The way I heard it...he was finding fault with American government policies...I never think of the American government as "America"...I love America...but I don't care much for the government

Now ask them how many actual dollars they are talking about and how many of paleoPaulie's dollars are coming from the likes of George Soros types, moveon.org types, libertoonian and other bimbos seeking to divide the conservative norms in this country in favor of those obsessed with money uber alles, and other eccentrics who resent the idea of annihilating this country's enemies on the enemy turf and not in our own land.

"Nation building" is uniformly unpopular among conservatives but that does not mean that run and hide has become the new preference for the military and veterans unless they are veterans of Al Qaeda, military related communists like George McGovern who admitted this week that he voted for Gerald cut and run Ford in 1976, the mentally ill who are attracted to the Dr. Demento personality of paleoPaulie and the like.

Apparently the web site "The Spin Factor" is quite accurately named.

Nothing stunning at all just well-executed propaganda advancing the cowardice agenda of the radical left within nominally conservative ranks. PaleoPaulie: he LUVS the constitution and will keep us out of war!!!! The mullahs will adore us. The animals will play with the children. All will win and everyone will have prizes!!! Don't you believe? Don't you WANT to believe???

He said that the United States brought the 9-11 attacks on herself. Do you agree or disagree with that sentiment?

“Ron Paul currently has more cash-on-hand than John McCain this quarter” - And the news is that McCain’s campaign is in trouble! You Paulistinians are desperate to be noticed.

If true, the military support is very telling. Folks back home are likely to give an ear to what our fighting men and women have to say.

Ron Paul is the "darkhorse" with the best chance. He's getting money, and he has staked a position (Republican, but not REPUBLICAN, libertarian, leave Iraq) that resonates with the public.

I'm not supporting him, but I put him as most likely to win, especially if the Dems have a quick nominmee of Hillary or Osama (the old McCain moderate crossover vote). I know it's a shock to many here...but Freepers aren't the only ones voting, and this is -not- a mainstream pulse of the public site!

PaleoPaulie got plenty of notice for the shameless Al Qaeda apologist that he is. Think of him as Mohammed El Paulie, lord of the rift (trying to revive Neville Chamberlain's reputation by making believe that cowardice in the face of the enemy is somehow courage).

Sorry, Paulie, 12/7/41 and 9/11/01 guarantee the failure of your antiwar AntiAmerican efforts now and forever.

You got that right.

I can see McCain’s appeal with military members - but Hillary Clinton sitting a little shy of 14%?!

Now that’s alarming!

That is EXACTLY right. I read DU quite often, and anyone familiar with the DUmp knows that any support for "conservative" or "Republican" candidates is strictly verboten. However! Posts supporting Ron Paul receive a much warmer welcome over there. I've even read posts discussing strategies of them changing their voter reg to R so they can vote for Paul in the primaries. I bet a search of Kos and other lib sites would yield similar findings.

I just wonder how he does with black lesbian midgets turned down by the military due to height. That would be telling.

I dunno, in my ron paul meet up. They are trying to get a booth at a gun show. Matter of fact if your in the area (Nothern Virginia) tonight you might want to come to the VCDL meeting with Tom Lizardo, Ron Paul’s Chief of Staff. And you can come meet all those hippies and moveon types.

Details: http://www.vcdl.org/

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the VDCL, it’s a “grassroots organization dedicated to defending the human rights of all Virginians and, most importantly, the proposition that the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a fundamental Human Right.”

Freepmail me if you want more details and times.

I do not believe the 9-11 attacks would have happened had American policies been different...the specific policies about which AQ had been harping for years and after 9-11....now...maybe those policies were so beneficial to the American people that they were worth the increased risk of terrorism...but, can anyone really believe that the 9-11 attacks were not a response to American policies? Terrorism isn't new...and large organized terrorist groups like AQ always have a political agenda

I’ve sent money to Ralph Nader simply because I wanted him in the race on the left. I didn’t intend to vote for him.

I wonder if Dennis Kucinich will take a money order?

Actually He is pro-war. As in for constitutionally declared wars. Not the current stack of WINOs we got now.

But don’t let that stop your anti-constitutional propaganda of yours.
