Can’t blame the Grand Jury as that is a one sided show. I heard a saying that it was easy to get a Grand Jury to indict a ham sandwich.

So, what do we do about the Grand Jury that true billed this case and the jury who convicted?Nothing. They were misled by Sutton, lied to by Sutton and they are not at fault.
So. Fire Sutton or better yet put him on trial for wrongful prosecution. And, if it can be proved that he know prior to the trial that the illegal was still smuggling drugs then Sutton should go to jail.

(On Lou Dobbs just now) at an earlier event today(?)GWB called him(Sutton)"his good friend from Texas" that he's "known for a long time" and that "a jury of their peers" judged the border patrol agents "on the evidence given"...that perhaps others should not judge the jury's verdict without knowing all of the facts of the case.
This exchange followed a question from an audience member who basically said that in view of the widespread support for the two border patrol agents does that pretty much assure a commutation by the President, GWB basically said NO it doesn't.
Take that for what it's worth.

Maybe I missed it in the transcripts, but I’ve tried to avoid the blogs on this and just go the legal opinions (pro and con), but what did Sutton specifically mislead the jury on? A link to all the transcripts are listed above for reference.

Not entirely sure why you are defending Sutton. The whole case was an attempt to appease illegals and their supporters. Sutton was on a witch hunt.
Two men defending the U.S. were railroaded and you know it.

Congress should call for a “Special Prosecutor” to investigate Johnny Sutton and the several credible allegations of mis-conduct by the U.S. Prosecutor and his staff and their alleged connections to the Mexican government in this case and others.
There’s enough dead fish smell to go around on this between the U.S. Justice Dept and the head of the Executive branch.

I’m not saying the punishment was right, but I’m not so quick to put Sutton up on a stake.. no matter what people think about this being a case to appease illegals and their supporters, it doesn’t make sense considering Sutton’s history.
What I want people to do is to go and actually read the court transcripts and get expand their view based on that a not a lot of opinion pieces. I think people are knee jerking this entire thing. The punishment is too severe, yes, but did the case deserve to be reviewed by a jury, yes.
If this wasn’t about illegals during this heated time, do you think people would be up in arms as they are now? Take this case, put it in Dallas with no illegals involved, do you think anyone would be calling for Sutton’s firing, I think not..
No, I think the witch hunt isn’t coming from Sutton’s office in this case..

Good sentiment but just who do you think is going to do that?

guys I know Johnny Sutton and have for 20 years. You cannot find a more reasonable or balanced person. All the people in his district in Texas are extremely grateful to have such a high caliber guy in that tough job. Only place I would like to see him move is to be a federal judge. You simply could not find a better man.

However, I equate Sutton to Nifong and Nifong is paying the price for his insane actions. Sutton should as well.

This has not been the only border patrol agent he has prosecuted (persecuted?). He seems to have a pattern of attacking agents and letting illegals go free.

Sutton should be tarred and feathered as a near-traitor to the U.S.

If Sutton is the same as Nifong then it should be easy for you to point out where Sutton purposefully misled the jury. Note: I linked to the court transcripts so you can use those instead of someone’s opinion on a blog.

They may not be prejudice but they also have knowledge a lot closer to the situation than most people who have gotten their opinion of what to think about this based on blogs..
Everyone I know in Sutton’s district, including many anti-illegal activists and very Conservative people say the same thing about Sutton.
Like me, they think that the sentence against the agents is too harsh, but they don’t blame Sutton.

I just watched that POS defend himself on Glenn Beck. He seems like a man who is crazed to prosecute.
He even denied he misled Congress two days ago when Beck clearly showed he had.
