Every time I’ve ever gone to one of those places they always showed up with their list of problems that absolutely had to be fixed now, and always the air filter was on the list, plus other thing generally to the tune (if I’d let them do the work) of over $100. They stink. Maybe they straightened out in the mean time, but given this report it doesn’t sound like it.
If you are familiar with ‘Just Brakes’..their advertised rate as visible from the road is $99 for a brake job — shoes, pads..whatever. When all was said and done and the keys handed to me, I was a good six hundred dollars poorer.
