you know, that’s great. More people need to read the Koran. The passages about killing Jews and Christians are blatant and so any reasonable person looks at it and is shocked. Too many people think the Koran is just another ‘holy” book

Funny. Michael Savage has been saying this for years and people here called him crazy and zealous.

Now look at all the posts sticking up for Boortz.

Boortz interrupted: It's a cult, it's not even a religion. … "

I have always liked Neil Boortz but my respect & admiration for him just multiplied a thousandfold! God bless you Neil Boortz for saying it like it IS.

The MAJOR problem we face in our war of civilizations against the Islamofascists is the absolute refusal of the appeasement-blame-the-victim-head-in-the-sand Leftisits to truly "get it" that the major problem with those we are fighting is their ideology ("religion") and that until we face that FACT - we cannot win. They seek death and have no respect for life or anyone who does not believe what they believe....and that is pretty much the entire western world. Those who are apologists for them don't get it that these satanic monsters will kill them just as fast as they will kill a so-called right-winger.

A voice of reason, finally.

It's easy for anybody to say that any religion other than their own is a "cult".

However last time I checked we live in a nation that guarantees and protects freedom of religion, and tolerance of different beliefs is a hallmark of that virtue.

This Neil Boortz' rant is nothing but divisive and inflamatory.

I can't decide whether I agree with what Boortz did or not.

On the one hand, he IS right in that Islam is a cult - It never ceases to amaze me how singular Islam as a belief system, and Muslims as those who follow that belief system, are about their devotion to Mohammed. They get annoyed when you question them about Allah and perhaps even suggest that Allah was merely a monotheised 7th century Arabian moon god. But one word against Mohammed, and they fly into a rage. Those Danish cartoonists could have sketched pictures of Allah sitting on the throne with a newspaper (you know which throne I mean), and we wouldn't have seen nearly the response as the Mohammed cartoons created. Clearly, Islam is a personality cult - Mohammed was just Jim Jones times a billion.

But, all the same, Boortz says what he says not, I don't believe, out of any real knowledge of Islam, but merely because he doesn't like religion in general. Islam merely provides him a convenient way to say what he'd really like to say about Christians, without losing 70% of his listeners. Boortz is a snake in the grass, and even when he throws red meat out there about Islam and Muslims and terrorism, never forget that he probably thinks that the Christians out handing out Gospel tracts are as "dangerous" as Muslims flying airplanes into buildings.

And somebody, like I said yesterday, somebody needs to grab the Muslim world by the shirt collar, backhand it a good one, knock it into the damn corner and say straighten up or we're gonna eradicate you beetles from the face of the Earth. … "

Amen, Brother.

Islam is an Arab-centric RELIGION of meteorite worshippers that seeks world domination through violence. There, does that make you feel better?

The only rational definition of a cult is "a religion I don't like."

So Merriam Webster is irrational? Or maybe you're just a little hyperbolic?

** a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.

Which part of this rational application of a simple dictionary definition makes you think him idiotic? Or have you drank the Kool-aid, too?

(also interesting in the definiteion of "cult"...
** any system for treating human sickness that originated by a person usually claiming to have sole insight into the nature of disease, and that employs methods regarded as unorthodox or unscientific.)

And what if that religion is diametrically opposed to freedom?

They can't coexist. One of them has to subjugate itself to the other.

This Neil Boortz' rant is nothing but divisive and inflamatory.

Killing 3,000 Americans by hijacking flying commercial jetliners in our country and flying them into buildings to destroy anyone who is not Muslim is inflammatory and divisive.

IIRC Boortz attended a PCUSA chursh in Atlanta. PCUSA is socially liberal as is Boortz who is also the Libertarian.

So, can I assume that when Muslims march, calling for the death of us infidels and that Jewish people are pigs & monkeys that you are filled with Warm Fuzzies of Ultimate Inclusiveness & Love?

Such things disgust me.
IMHO anybody who is actually involved in promoting terrorism needs to be put away or removed from this earth.

But being opposed to terrorism and religious intolerance isn't helped by hypocritically stating to an entire religion "we're gonna eradicate you beetles from the face of the Earth".

Boo hoo. I agree with Boortz.

I have friends of various religions and a wife of a different religion than I. But I do and will continue to call Islam, Scientology, and Mormonism CULTS!

My tolerance ends at the doorstep of each and every mosque in this country that does not step out and vocally condemn radicalism! Those who do not are my enemy, and as Boortz says, they need to be eradicated like beetles...........

Your "Freedom and Tolerance" have been so over used by the leftists and our enemies that they have lost their legitimacy. Legal words have now taken precedence over basic common sense..........

Running away how?

As I said, the real definition of a cult is “a religion I really, really don’t like.”

Do you have another, objective definition that would cover Islam that wouldn’t apply equally to other religions that have been widely accepted now or in the past?

It is also, perhaps, relevant that our Constitution prohibits our government from distinguishing between “religions” and “cults.” Individuals, of course, are free to develop their own opinions.

Shoot, Dave Hunt even wrote an entire book about how Roman Catholicism is a cult.

You say, However last time I checked we live in a nation that guarantees and protects freedom of religion, and tolerance of different beliefs is a hallmark of that virtue. I could not agree more with that statement.

And exactly how does Allah and his teachings meet those "guarantees and protect(ions) of freedom of religion?"

I don't know. Nor do I know where there are clauses in any other religions that protect or guarantee "freedom" of religions.

I was talking about the US Goverment and Constitution.
