This is a very good question. The answer is simple. We aren't barbarians. We have evolved since the 7th century. Here's a good question for you: If we sent a bunch of ICBMs into Mecca on 9/10/01 for no other reason but to slaughter innocents, what would muslims do to every living non-muslim in every country on earth?

Get real. The reason Jefferson had a koran was because the Colonials recognized the islam threat 250 years ago... back before that is was islam invasion of Europe. We (America) haven’t peacefully coexisted because everything is okey dokey....it’s been because of isolation of our home land. With great ‘globalism’ and modern transportation and technology that is easy to get that has changed.
