When we took a trip a couple of years ago to Japan with our Japanese daughter-in-law, it was so refreshing to hear the beautiful Japanese language instead of spanish. It was a mental vacation as well as physical.

As a visitor to Japan, (or me as a legal resident here temporarily until this next TDY is up), you and I both had to watch our Ps and Qs in Japan, too, didnt we? One act being out of line, doing something illegal, or entering illegal in the first place, and pffffft!, we'd be outta' there.

I cannot IMAGINE as a foreign resident in Japan getting any kind of social services, driver's license, free schooling, or anything, without solid proof of my resident status here in Japan. There are so many checkpoints along the way, you would never get away with it, for very long, as an illegal in Japan.
