Bet I worked on more farms and picked more crops than you did.
Here’s a thought, how bout addressing the issue of where you going to find labor to replace the Mexicans rather than your cheap attacks.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Supply and demand little lady, supply and demand.

In 1999, I was laid-off from a manufacturing job. I was off for 18 months and had trouble finding part-time work. I live not far from several farming communities. There were no openings. None.
I was laid-off again in 2001 for 8 months. Again no farm job opening any where in the area.
Ok, that was then and this is now. My brother got out of the military in mid-December and hunted all over for a job. He did not find one until April. It is fast food work. He hasn’t found anything else since.
An associate of mine has both this son and daughter living with him and both have been hunting for jobs and they are not finding any. There are not ads in the paper or online in this area for farm labor even though there are several farms.
All the examples I gave are of people born in this country who are not farming, and instead struggling for survival and you are supporting the idea that they should not be able to get farm jobs so that people who broke the law to enter this country could have jobs.
I will not thank a Mexican for preventing me and others from working.
Bray my friend. Increase the visa quotas on the existing visa programs. There must be 25 existing visa programs that don't grant amnesty to people already in this country.
Fully mechanizing our approach to farming is the only way our growers can stay ahead of the curve with regards to foreign competition.
Apparently in your world the ends justify the means.
Ummm .. seems to me even NPR has mentioned the difficulty teens are having finding summer jobs — “immigrants” are taking them.
As was recently posted to me regarding my comments on RP, you’re tilting at windmills here. I’ve tried to have a reasoned dialogue with some on FR regarding this issue. But, alas, to no avail. There’s just too much anger in some.
We have legal workers that go home (south of the border) after harvest season. There are a couple of hundred of them right down the road from me right now. I don't know a soul that thinks they shouldn't be here.
Why don't we try replacing illegal aliens with the able-bodied American citizens that are now sitting home collecting our tax dollars? Reform welfare and you have a whole new labor force all of a sudden. It may take them awhile to learn that they actually have to work ... but they will do so before they allow themselves to starve and have their wheels repossessed.
