Rather than push for a pardon at this stage, it seems to me that they would have a very good case on appeal as this crucial evidence was withheld from the jury. Another trial would most likely result in an acquittal.

I think you’re probably right but the families of Ramos and Compean have been totally devasted by this miscarriage of justice. I don’t know if financially or emotionally they could sustain years more of this legal circus. At least a pardon would allow them to try to start putting their lives back together as best they can.
