Saturday, July 7, 2007 – Planned Parenthood, El Cajon

“As we were praying, a very large bird that looked like some sort of eagle or vulture flew across Main Street and on to the top of a telephone pole directly across the street from us. The bird had caught some kind of prey, perhaps a small rodent, and stood on the top of the telephone pole eating it.”

Approximately seven prayer warriors came out to pray and minister in front of the El Cajon Planned Parenthood clinic on Saturday, July 7. They prayed all 20 mysteries of the Rosary, the Divine Mercy chaplet, and sang hymns.

The clinic was not overly busy, but we were able to give literature to a few people. We gave literature to a couple of young women as they drove out of the clinic. One young Latina who waits for the bus in front of the clinic and who has taken information from us before, again took information, saying that she had given the last pamphlets to her male friends. To another young couple entering the clinic, we said that saving sex for marriage is the surest protection against disease and regret, and that if they are engaging in sexual activity outside of marriage, they should stop now.

One woman, a young mother with a precious four-month-old daughter in the rear car seat, stopped as she was leaving to talk with us. This mom had been to Planned Parenthood to get contraception, and on the front seat, she had the customary plain brown paper bag that PP gives to outgoing patients. The mother said she is Catholic and prays the Rosary, and asked if we had any information about natural family planning (NFP). We told her that using contraception is a mortal sin forbidden by the Church. We were able to give her information from Anne Fitch-Dececchi's Fitch Fertility Center, a set of Fertility Tracking Beads to help her determine her fertile times, as well as information on how contraceptives work and why they are dangerous. The mom gratefully accepted all of it.

One man, riding a bicycle and wearing a Christian-themed T-shirt, stopped by to chat. We explained what we do in front of the clinic -- pray and offer women various information, depending on their reasons for visiting the clinic. He made several of us laugh when he said, "The best birth control pill for a woman is an aspirin -- held between her knees."

As we were praying, a very large bird that looked like some sort of eagle or vulture flew across Main Street and on to the top of a telephone pole directly across the street from us. The bird had caught some kind of prey, perhaps a small rodent, and stood on the top of the telephone pole eating it. Watching the bird eat as we prayed, we were reminded of how Planned Parenthood similarly preys on and devours our children.

Please join us on Fridays at 8:30 a.m. (Fridays are the day that Planned Parenthood commits RU486 chemical abortions) or Saturdays at 9 a.m. to pray.
