Indeed, but until the White House and our RINOs put out the fire in the grassroots over this, the Dems can say whatever they want, grassroots republicans are saying “Our guys are worse” (more or less) by not supporting the Republican Party.

IMO, the only way to put out that fire is to either:

1. JWB steps up and says that Amnesty was a mistake, and Martinez quietly resigns as head of the RNC.

or

2. The news is spread far and wide as to just what the Dhimcrats plans our for amnesty, Hilliary and Obama are in open support of Amnesty, yet most people don’t know it, because the MSM is not pointing that out and even on FR, that is not being pointed out to our fellow FReepers.

Hilliary as CINC with a Dhimi House and filibuster proof Senate should cause even the most die hard Jorge’ hater to think twice, that combination would basically undue all of the good things the George Bush Administration has done.

I'll ask again with the two non Clinton elections you refer to. Cite the success of the DBM polls in the 2004 and 2006 elections.

Do your own Internet research. Start with RealClearPolitics. Everything I said is verifiable.

Now........don't worry........be happy.......Hillary can't possibly win.......Why, the DBM/MSM is cooking the polls......yada, yada, yada....... :-)

” The only poll that counts is the final one on Election Day.”

100% correct

And we are the ones who can determine the outcome.

So until then it’s all talk / hype / disinforming & BS on who wins the prize come judgment (voting) day............

No. You make your own point. Everything you said about DBM paid-for polls being correct is BS!

No

Fine. If you don't want to check out the evidence, that's OK by me.

Do you remember the day before the 2004 election? Rush said on his show that the average of all the polls came out to about 51-48 in Bush's favor......right on the money, it turned out.

Now.....what do you think of this:

No problem, right? :-)

Presidential polls are not to be taken too seriously at this early point in time. There’s still plenty of time for the GOP at every level to truly turn things around for them in the polls. All the GOP needs to do is make a bunch of ads that show all of the negative videos of Democrats in action, thanks to the likes of several video sharing sites, and people will wake up to the reality of how bad the U.S. will get with the Democrats in control of both the Presidency and of Congress. The general public already presently polls the Democratically controlled Congress lower than even President Bush’s present poll numbers, so how do the Republicans truly not have at least a good chance for victory in ‘08? Even the MSM can’t completely prevent the “new media” from being able to show all of the problems that exist in the Democrat Party at every level. The thought of the U.S. soon becoming a socialistic, third world country for the long-term with endless waves of illegal immigrants coming into the U.S. and becoming “legal” and then voting throughout the U.S., no true border protections, bigger government, taxes, and regulations “through the roof”, the death of both the Republican Party and of conservatism, and no full protections from possible terrorist attacks right in the U.S. is scary enough! I’m still waiting for commonsense to truly make a decent comeback by truly eliminating all political correctness! Good luck on that! It’s this idea of needing to be politically correct that’s truly destroying Western Civilization!

And if the MSM doesn’t get the American Sheeple to continue to buy into their socialist candidates, they’ll find another Mark Foley to march out.

In 1988, Michael Doo-caca was leading George H. W. Bush by 17 points three months before the election.

Where was that poll taken, Massechusets?

Methinks that oft repeated tale is the stuff of urban political legend.

Oh, there might have been one or two (uncredible) polling companies which came up with that result.

But nationally, on the whole, and even by the mainstream liberal press - Dukakis was viewed as a doofus -- which he certainly was.

If you come up with a credible source, I will certainly retract my statement and apologize for being wrong.

But I just dont remember THOSE kind of huge leads for Dukakis "the tank driver."

I don’t know how old you are Mojo but I remember that election very well. I was a GOP District Chairman in Michigan at the time, and I attended the 1988 Convention in New Orleans.

I remember that election very, very, very well. I stand by the facts; Dukakis was ahead of George H.W. by 17 points when the GOP Convention ended in August of that year. Many thought Dad George could not overcome the deficit and then, Mikey boy began to implode.

Trust me on this one Mojo.

I don’t know how old you are Mojo but I remember that election very well.

I am a journalist who was very involved in politics back in 1988.

Do a little research, like I did, and you will find sources all over the internet similar to this one below:

""In 1988, Reagan's Vice-President George H. W. Bush ran against Governor Michael Dukakis. In mid-August, Bush had just taken the lead, 48-44. The race was very close throughout August and September, but Bush built up a 49-43 lead by the second week of October, 53-39 by the middle of October, and 56-44 at the end of October. Bush won with 53.4% (to 45.7%) of the PV. Gallup was off by an aggregate of 4.3 points.""

It is a media myth that Dukakis ever held a 17 point lead over Bush (for more than two seconds, perhaps during the height of Dukakis' acceptance speech on the Democratic convention floor night)

That is even more striking given the fact that Dukakis, in mid-summer at the Dem Convention, had just named his "Southern" strategy in choosing Lloyd Bentson as his VP candidate.

I'm not trying to be beligerent. Just stating the true history, and not relying on the biased media myths.

Dukakis was ahead of George H.W. by 17 points when the GOP Convention ended in August of that year.

It is possible that the generic non-named Democrat led the generic non-named Republican by 17 percentage points in early 1988.

But by the end of August, as you state, the nation clearly moved toward then VP GHW Bush over the northeast liberal Dukakis.

If you want to fork out the $4.95 for an archive (exerpt below) from the New York Times, you will notice this article states that on Sept. 14 of 1988, there had ONLY been a TWO-POINT shift in public opinion polls (Bush vs Dukakis) OVER THE PREVIOUS SIX WEEKS, which effectively takes one back to late July.

Like I said, Dukakis might have had a 17-point lead over a generic Republican in the early primaries.

Or he might have had a 17-point lead during his speech night of the Democratic convention, but he never, repeat never held a nationwide 17 point lead over any reasonable length of time (longer than a few hours, that is).

Media myth strikes again.

Hmmmmm. I could be wrong; I’ve been wrong before. But, I definitely remember the 17% deficit and how depressed I was over it.
