You bet i am scared!!!

Two Decades of the most crappy presidenting imaginable; no leadership to be found; a idiotic populace who vote with the same brain cells as they use to vote for the American idols. A piece of trash like barok Husien obomination is viewed as presidential timber. The rat party selling out our mislead fighting forces. Spending out of control. Rampant corruption. The invasion from the soft underbelly of the southern border. A crime wave thats met with fools trying to abolish the DEATH PEANALTY and coddling prisoners.

This once great nation has become so fouled up beyond recognition that sane people are dispirited and totally disillusioned. The next election is make or break. Can't afford to let the rats win; the most able and skilled candidate needs to be nominated. We cannot afford to luxuriate in our ideology when the fate of the nation is at stake. There may be other times for the better man, now we need the better candidate.

“Can’t afford to let the rats win; the most able and skilled candidate needs to be nominated.”

The most able and skilled candidates are what have given us all the bad that you mentioned above in your reply # 102.

That is ancient history and its about a haplessly lame duck who is beyond lame, but a double amputee. The party fed us a bill of goods of the wonders of nepotism, how wonderful it will be 2 presidential elections ago.

And he seemed plausible after the totally lackluster Dole the party hacks put up against bubba’s second term. I wasn’t fooled and I suspect most of you weren’t either; we could all see right through him and saw the glaring lack of ability and superficialism. I hated that I had to vote for someone as dreadful, lest something worse befall the nation.

That cant happen again. Ma Bush ran out of siblings.

Nevertheless the great conundrum before us will not be solved by a justifiable emotional pick of someone who is now polling a fraction of a measly one percent with 4 other losing worthies. And that’s of republicans, not the nation as a whole. Why cannot a devastating fact like that penetrate some skulls here?

The political situation in the USA is dire and deteriorating. The sooner what there is of the DH faithful get real the better for all of us.

“That is ancient history and its about a haplessly lame duck who is beyond lame, but a double amputee. The party fed us a bill of goods of the wonders of nepotism, how wonderful it will be 2 presidential elections ago.”

You are referring only to President Bush. I was talking about Dole, Clinton, Carter and several others. I believe that the problem is that people here a name on the news over and over and believe that is the person who they can back without finding out what that person stands for.

I no longer believe the “can’t beat ______” arguement. This nation as a whole is being hoodwinked into voting based on all kinds of arguements other than what the candidate believes and what actions back up the candidates words.

I also see that lesser candidates can have a large impact on the nominee even if they do not get a majority of the votes at the convention.

By the way, I am a Hunter supporter. I have looked at what the man has done over the last several years.

That said, I am not against most of the Republican candidates, but I am against some. I can not see any difference between Rudy and Hillary. Not even honesty.

McCain is going further and further to the left as the years pass. Add to that that he is out for himself. I don’t think he really cares about anyone else. I can not vote for either of these 2 and have my conscience intact.

I don’t know a lot about Romney, but I really have to wonder about him after the gay marriages he helped along in Mass. and other of his actions.

I agree that Hunter is very low in polling. That does not mean he has not done a good job as a Government servant.

I do not know if Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich will get in the race, so I will not comment on them.

The rest I have some strong agreements with and a few disagreements with.

[...servant}... you stumbled into the truth. We need a leader, not a servant.

Thanks for that insight.

“[...servant}... you stumbled into the truth. We need a leader, not a servant.”

Actually, no I did not stumble. Part of the problem with elections is that the person elected and the people doing the electing look that the elected as a leader and forget the reason they are a leader is that they are, first, foremost, and last a servant of “the people”.

“Are you denying that a president has to lead the nation and not just respond to polls and focus groups?”

No. I am just stating that elected officials and the rest of us need to be reminded that they are supposed to lead because their job is to serve “we the people”.

“That’s essentially what i said.”

Thanks for clarifying that. I have met people who think elected officials are only to serve “we the people” and others that only think elected officials are to lead.

You are correct that they are to do one by way of the other. Serve by way of leading.
