Dave’s a lib, but he’s an honest one. How any REAL liberal- not some wannabe-leftist-tyrant who calls themselves one- could not want to destroy the UN is beyond me.
The guy needs to learn how to read. Nowhere does the "rant" directly blame the U.N. for 9/11. Instead the rant states the truth - the U.N. is corrupt and no one can refute that fact.
Somebody takes himself way, way too seriously. He does manage to work the word "trope" into the mess, which is evidence either to a wasted education within the coils of an unbearably earnest liberal arts curriculum or an attempt to snow us illiterate rednecks with a little metonymy or synecdoche of his own. Either way it's a wasted effort. It's a heavy metal album, buttmunch, not À la Recherche du Temps Perdu.
But one has to admire his sheer brass for attempting to claim credit for the Iraq elections on behalf of a gaggle of gobbling fools in New York City instead of the troops who bled for it. This is pure UN-speak - if there's peace it's because of us, if there's war it's in spite of us. Nice game where you can't lose, the only difficulty is getting the suckers to buy in. Not me, thanks.
Always have liked Megadeth. While they’re no Iron Maiden, their songs have a reason behind them. And they didn’t sell out as Metallica did
I like Megadeth’s “ So Far So Good So What “
I Also think the last good Metallica Cd was “ And Justice For All “
I played in several metal bands in LA in the 80’s for 12 years. I used to be a lib then, but in the mid 90’s I started smelling the coffee, so to speak. Nice to see there’s more metalheads who are conservative. A couple old bandmates are too. When I get my puter fixed, I’ll hit your myspace and check out your band. Keep rockin:)
Open season rocks - just wish the language wasn’t so bad...
But this one is great - and is pretty much “family friendly” and radio friendly as well-—

Couldn’t agree more.
First three megadeth albums were brilliant. It’s was hit or miss after that, but I give them a lot more credit that Metallica in that they stuck to their guns and stayed true to their fans.
And Justice for All’ was the last good Metallica CD. The two events that mark the creative fall of Metallica was the death of bassist Cliff Burton and getting Bob Rock to be their producer.
I’ll definitely have to pick this one up. Good to see Megadeth are back to doing what they do best. I’m not buying Dave’s sudden “Christian conversion” though.
Mustaine has had a lot of problems with alchohol and drugs.
I met him on Oahu in 1990 through mutual friends in the local club scene. The story told was that he was out there on orders of his record label to try to clean up. Oahu? Go figure. The place is always swarming with drugs and lowlifes.
He was the quiet loner type, but partied very hard in private settings and showed a lot of self-destructive behavior. Damn gifted guitar player. I saw him jamming one night at a friends place.
If christianity is helping with his addiction demons, then it’s good for him.
It isn't all that sudden. I remember reading about it back in the late 90's.
mark for later sampling
I bought “United Abominations” yesterday and have listened to it about 4 times through so far. I am enjoying even more than I did “ Peace Sells...” and “Rust in Peace” years ago.

The guys on Iced Earth mercilessly blasted Noam Chomsky during one interview.
Dave Mustaine and Mega death hit a nerve and sets the UN on the defense.
Makes me wonder why it is so important for them to defend themselves to a younger generation. Afraid that their indoctrination may not reach every corner of the world?
Disclaimer: I know that not all fans are young, some old farts also like metal thrash.
Thanks for posting this, I’m going to buy Megadeth’s newest this afternoon.
And thanks to all who linked other patriotic vids in this thread.
Here’s Stuck Mojo’s Open Season - the CAIR version. Highly recommended viewing!

Are you still running a “Metal Ping List?”
