“..they can’t stop China from drilling..”
“I’d love to see some leadership..”

The US rather gives the oil to China than to do its own exploration for fear of the environmentalists. And talking about “leadership” - when was the last time you noticed any?

I was a young engineer working in Saudi back in the 70’s being all awestruck by the amount of oil being produced when an old geologist told me that we had more oil in the Gulf at greater depth. Drilling to that depth was, at that time, prohibitively expensive and the right technology had not been developed. We have it now, but we also have these bastard environmentalists.

What has not been told to the American public is that China will drill horizontally to get at oil inside our national borders. We are giving our country away to the communists and Muslims.

Transocean (RIG) should be required to give priority to US operations and bidders ... The current situation WILL lead to world war for resources.. it’s a ridiculous situation as we have the oil ourselves but I can’t see this being resolved with our current leadership..
