That’s a disgusting story, but it reminds me of how much I miss the taco joints in San Diego. I grew up in East County.

The first taco stand of that variety that I patronized was "El Norteno" on 3rd Avenue (near Palomar). The beef burritos were very tasty, but they were so juicy that a plate was necessary to catch the final "splash" out the bottom. I loved the machaco burritos at Alberto's and the carne asada burritos at Roberto's.
