“Your generous deposit has been received. Thank you for visiting Libya.”
This is great news, though as snarks_when_bored has pointed out, the ransom had to be paid first.
No good deed goes unpunished...
I’m glad they’re on there way out.
BULGARIA: MEDICS TO BE PARDONED ON ARRIVAL
The Bulgarian medical workers sentenced to life in a Libyan AIDS case but allowed to serve their terms at home will be pardoned on their arrival in Sofia, a foreign ministry spokesman said.
This is good news.
The Barbary Pirates never went away, really...
The plane has landed in Sofia.
Ping to #6 and 9.
Prayers of thanks that they are home.
Retrieved from hell. Good going Cecilia.
Piracy still works in the Mediterranean. The Libyans were bought off, and their hostages saved by paying the ransom.
The enthusiasts see this as a breakthough. More likely it is an encouragement for more legalistic kidnappings and hostage-takings.
Imagine Libya with nukes! Worse, imagine Iran with nukes!
Lesson: Do not go to corrupt, Muslim regimes offering to help provide essential medical care. Stay away.
