Answer: It is actually hanging his air valve stem. The reason you don’t usually see Muslim valve stems is that the hair usually covers them.
Betcha you thought only blondes had ‘em. Actually, all air heads must have them, because without regular refills, the air leaks out and their heads collapse.

He lost a leg in a landmine explosion a few days before the Taliban took Kabul in September 1996. But, he lost his head many years earlier. No need for shampoo anymore.
