IYAGO ENTERTAINMENT GROUP Presents WHAT BLACK MEN THINK An In Depth View of How Myths, Stereotypes and Misrepresentations render Black Men Non-Necessities in their Communities and Families
In the most provocative Black film of the year, Janks Morton presents a searing examination of the role that myths, stereotypes and misrepresentations have played in the decimation of modern era black relationships, and how the symbiotic relationship between government, the media and black leadership perpetuates misinformation to further marginalize the role of black men as it relates to their families and community.
Since the triumphs of the civil rights legislations of the early 1960s havoc and decimation has been wreaked on the Black family with a specific devastation on the Black man. With myths and stereotypes of the media, the failed policy of the great society and modern era black leadership abandoning tenants that held the community together during slavery, a new form of mental slavery has perpetuated an undeclared civil war in the Black Community

Think I’ll send this to Leonard Pitts.
It would be refreshing to see a majority of the Black community to rise up against the Democratic establishment who are hell-bent on keeping them dependent on Mother Government.
” ... the Democratic establishment who are hell-bent on keeping them dependent on Mother Government.”
I see it as being much more troubling. I think most liberals in government think they are doing “good”. They think they are helping. And they do it with the conviction of someone who is sure they are right. Therefore, the damage they cause is huge.
Nice catch:)
So what DO black men think? I don’t see it in there.
From a copyrighted review, posted on the film’s homepage:
“The film debunks several myths about black men, including the misperception that there are more black men in jail than in college, that black men who are secretly bisexual are causing the increase in HIV/AIDS cases among black women, that at least 30 percent of black men marry white women, and that less than a third of them graduate high school. We have to get straight on the statistics about black males because our perception about the numbers creates a perception about ourselves, Morton told BET.”
The old expression, “Damning with faint praise”, comes to mind...
Call the Fair Housing office!
“So what DO black men think? I dont see it in there.”
I would presume the same stuff as everyone else, which is why it’s not in the article.
We’re all about the same and think about the same stuff; doesn’t make much of a story.
Just as I suspected!
:^)
It should say "since the death of morality, work ethic, and personal responsibility in the black community that was codified into de facto law in the Great Society days of Lyndon Johnson,..."
thank you so much for that catch! I try to stay away from the victims mentality, but that damn public school system always seems to snare me when it comes to spelling (seriously thank you ~ as I send the masters off to press!)
