Developing the IDF’s strength is what will keep the danger of war at a distance and bring peace, said Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Wednesday night.

In a speech at a ceremony celebrating the graduation of 38 naval officers, Olmert said, “One year since the Second Lebanon War broke out – and the ceremony being held tonight is a show of strength and power.”

Very nice for the officers and their families, but someone should tell Olmert it takes a lot more than ceremonies to proves your "strength and power." Olmert and co. have set back Israel's "strength and power" quite a bit over the past year....

All of the strength in the world is meaningless if you either aren't willing to use it, or the enemy THINKS you are unwilling to use it. Olmert truly must have shiite for brains if he thinks that he adds to the deterrent capability of the IDF. As a matter of fact, the half-arsed, uncoordinated response of Israel last summer - because of Olmert - all but destroyed Israel's hard-won reputation for unchallengable strength. Sheesh, a bunch of sexually-frustrated, uneducated savages now think that they can take on Israel - where does that impression come from?
