I like Tancredo also but the thing I like about Hunter is his stance on China. Wouldn’t a Hunter/Tancredo or vice versa be great. They tell it like it is and don’t care what the opposition thinks of them. When it comes to protecting the U.S. I believe that they would fight with no holds barred.

“main main = main man (oh, “main main” is OK, too, I guess). however, I am getting a bit wobbly about this whole “Fred Thompson As The Supreme Savior For Conservatives” simplistic bandwagon of late”

So am I, my FRiend!

Only a right wing Jew would make Debbie happy, or someone more supportive of Israel than the U>S>

Precisely. I think Tom Tancredo is a great American and would be a good president...but Hunter is as much a border Hawk as Tancredo, and is aware of the other threats to our nation. In the end, I'm most concerned that the candidacy of the two men will once again split the forces of conservatism and thereby open the door for a lesser man to take the White House.

How do you propose that we work such a dilemma out?

How are the Democrats not going to both win the ‘08 Presidency and maintain their Congressional majorities with all of the continued problems on the Republican side? I don’t want the U.S. to truly become a socialistic country for the long-term! Come on, Republican Party, wake up!

He is just too ugly to be prez anyway, and we don’t need another womanizer in the white house.

Fred's not a womanizer and obviously women aren't dating him for his looks (hint hint)

Thank you for that. I mean it. Thanks

Now was Thompson responsible for those policies and statements put out by the State Department and decisions made by GWB, or is he just on the advisory committee?

I do think people may confuse him with his character on TV,

Are you referring to romey and those snake oil salesmen in the old westerns. You may be on to something there. Fip flopping snake oil salesman.

"Thank you for that. I mean it. Thanks"

You're welcome.

"Now was Thompson responsible for those policies and statements put out by the State Department and decisions made by GWB, or is he just on the advisory committee?"

I don't know the answer to that question, and it has occurred to me. More importantly, though, the atmosphere of perspectives and sentiments there wouldn't be good for a future commander-in-chief. One who had much experience in considering and legislating for our defense would not last long in such a position, IMO.

That is the truth.

If you are of arab decent, you are an anti-semite, according to her.
For all I know what she said about Spencer Abraham may be true. I just won’t take her word for it.
She has gotten into some nasty blog fights with other conservative bloggers. And I mean good conservative bloggers. She makes threats and lies.

...a reminder that he is the Chairman of that Committee, and advice from that Committee apparently does carry much weight. Here's a repeat of part of the excerpt from the State Dept. site.

...provides the Department with independent insight and advice on all aspects of arms control, disarmament, international security, and related aspects of public diplomacy. The ISAB is sponsored and overseen by the Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security. The Board provides its recommendations directly to the Secretary of State. The Board currently has 20 members and is chartered to have up to 25. Board members are national security experts with scientific, military, diplomatic, and political backgrounds. The Board meets in a plenary session on a quarterly basis.

Another case of the Fred groupies condemning the messenger! In case no one is aware of it it, the terrorists are our enemy. If this guy has had close business relationships with them, this is very telling about the judgement of one Fred Dalton Thompson, NOT Ms. Schlussel, who personally knows Spencer Abraham. Is FDT expecting big bucks from the enemy with this very questionable appointment? Why would he make such a careless decision?

Really!? Hey Jim, do you think Debbie is a fine conservative, if she supports Rudy?

Me thinks not.

“Count Me in the Giuliani Camp

By Debbie Schlussel

Every day, I’m asked whom I’m supporting for President in 2008. I’ve looked over the potential candidates, and on the Republican side, I believe the best, by far, is Rudy Giuliani, who took the first step toward a run, yesterday, with an exploratory committee........

So for those who want to know who I’m supporting for Prez, I say, “Viva Rudy.” America’s Mayor has what it takes to be America’s President.”

That was back in November of last year. Of course, if she supports Giuliani now, I’ll eat some beer-battered crow.

All I see is Debbie, a Rudy supporter...making a mountain out of a molehill. If people are that disturbed by a manager, they ought to reengage a bit.
