Fred, Rudy, and Mitt have attributes that conservatives are looking for in a President. Fred had a reasonably conservative voting record. Rudy has 9-11 gravitas. Mitt is a sharp debater.

On the flip side, the same three candidates have bad points that may cause conservatives to think twice before voting for them. Fred was an unremarkable Senator. Rudy’s social policies are nearly identical to Hillary’s. Mitt likes multiple choice platforms.

The GOP primary shall experience ups and downs and may yield some surprises come Feb 5th, 2008.

The big-money donors are probably waiting for Fred to announce. (Small amount donors as well, for that matter.)

When Fred makes it official, just hide and watch the money pour in; for real.

So far I’m in for a little because he’s done just a little. Once he announces, I’ll be in full boat. But not until then.

So that’s the new line of attack on FDT, huh?

He hires Spencer Abraham, an Orthodox Christian Arab-American, and the gnats stretch it into Jihad sympathesizing.

Next we will hear you tell us Marlo Thomas is a jihad supporter.

Get real.

Mary Matalin was not hired, she volunteered. She is riding his coattails.

He hired two people to run his campaign. Spencer Abraham who is familiar with statewide campaigns and Randy Enwright, a veteran of real campaign operations.

You call Thompson’s fundraising low when he raises more in a week than Duncan Hunter has in the 9 months he has been a candidate?

Yes and no. Problem is if F. Thompson’s candidacy hits a snag, what are we left with if we don’t support a conservative candidate?

FDT seems like a hunting man... The leak to NBC could very well be a decoy...misinformation....get em blabbing....

You are being generous in calling Hunter a candidate. He is half hearted at best.

We are indeed in serious trouble if Fred Thompson does not run, because there seems to be no strong alternative.

What is clear is that Duncan Hunter is not an effective spokesman for conservatism.

I disagree. Duncan Hunter is a very good spokesman, but he is largely unknown outside of California and true political junkies (like moi). Congressmen do not generally make the leap directly from Congress to the POTUS. I think that he would make a great VP candidate for Fred or Rudy, should either get the nomination. That would set him up nicely for 2012 or 2016. Although I respect his military service, I despise John McCain and think he would've made a terrible POTUS. I'm glad his campaign is imploding. As for Romney, I'm beginning to dislike him as well. He makes me think of a Republican version of Bill Clinton.

BTW, although short of his goal, $3,000,000 seems like a lot of money for an "unofficial" candidate to raise in a month.

-—A judge in Hazleton today strikes down a law in which a municipality, desperate to swim out of its tsunami of illegals...-—

The same thing happened in California, where one judge set aside the overwhelming will of the people to protect themselves from the illegal onslaught. Look at the result! Many of us have become refugees in our own country.

Why does noone mention his economic adviser, Lawrence Lindsey? I think that one is a big disappointment too.
