Soros drives Democratic Party: Author

WASHINGTON (Map, News) - The Examiner interviews David Horowitz, co-author with Richard Poe of “The Shadow Party: How George Soros, Hillary Clinton, and Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party,” published by Nelson Current.

Examiner: What is “The Shadow Party” and why do you call it that, instead of a “movement” or even a “conspiracy”?

Horowitz: Shadow Party is a term the Washington Post and other media organizations gave to a group of 527s — entities for funding political efforts — that were being organized by [billionaire activist] George Soros. It’s a transmogrification of “shadow government,” a political science term for a government in waiting.

Soros was the spearhead behind the McCain-Feingold [campaign finance] bill, and raised tens of millions of dollars to promote the cause. What it did was defund the Democratic Party in particular because it severely limited the contributions to a political party, and most Republican contributions went to candidates. At that point in time, the Democrats depended to a great extent on big union contributions, 95 percent of which went to them.

People who read this also read: Garcia: Urban geography rules pot-club politics Dickey: Giants stuck between rock and hard place Bloomberg: No plans to run for president; doesn't want VP job An Iron Man for all seasons Stock Futures Are Flat After Plunge The Democratic Party lost $100 million or more to Soros-created entities like Americans Coming Together that collected that union money. So the control shifted from the Democratic Party to Soros’ network, which became the force behind Democratic Party politics. All Democratic candidates had to answer to Soros. Unions also provided workers during elections; 100,000 campaign workers amount to another $100 million, all of which were under the control of Soros-created 527s. Examiner: Does the Internet make it easier for Soros to achieve his political objectives?

Horowitz: The Internet is neutral. It would actually be easier for us conservatives — if we did something. But there’s no leadership.

If the American people understand the stakes in Iraq — and the president hasn’t spent a whole lot of time explaining them — they’d respond the way they always have.

Here's another book to add to my list of future reads.

All the way at the end of the interview Horowitz says, "Bush would have lost the last election if not for the Swift boat guys operating on a shoestring, but the Bush White House attacked them. You don’t see any Democrats attacking Soros."

"How...Sixties Radicals Seized Control of the Democratic Party"

There aren't any other types left in the Democrat party leadership. They've been purged. Also, most leftists perfectly agree with sixties radicalism, so it's really not all that surprising.

We've always been fighting the '60s "blow up Western Civilization" radicals. I came along in the '70s /'80s, and I've been fighting them all my life. We will fight them and their fewer and fewer offspring until they die out, a rump population who somehow weren't aborted.

So where are our billionaires funding conservative causes, or trying to boost FR? If you believe the myths from the media, Republicans are all rich and the party of the billionaires. So where are the conservative ones? Buffett, Soros, et al are on the other side.

There are none. The ‘Rats (and media) raised holy hell when it came out that Scaife had given, what, $100,000 for the one effort to dig up dirt on Clinton (was it the “Arkansas Project”?), yet Soros and Lewis give tens of millions to scumsucking groups like MoveOn.org and the ‘Rats and the press utter nary a peep of protest. In fact, these ‘Rats are lauded as heroes or something. But when conservatives do it (to a much lesser degree) they are somehow evil and manipulative.

The way I understand this is Soros underwrote McCain-Feingold to take monies away from the Democrat party, so he could then take over financially and make the Democrats beholden to him?

I was a young mother in the 60’s. It was very painful, being a conservative, watching all the @rap the radicals were doing on TV. I felt I was alone and unable to do anything. Now, with the internet, we know we have conservative partners willing to hang in their until the last hippie freak is gone. Yes!!!

Examiner: What is the Shadow Party’s biggest objective for 2008?

Horowitz: Get us out of Iraq. Soros also wants Hillary elected president. She’s a very left-wing socialist and so is he. He’s also big on open borders: he’s already declared that American supremacy is the world’s number one problem. If you point out they have a similar agenda to the communists, the left will call you a McCarthyite and witch-hunter. We can’t even call traitors that, so they’ve won that battle.

Specter continues to carry the water for Soros in the Senate in regard to immigration. Many of the Republicans are bought and paid for, not to mention, if not true believers, scared s---less of Soros and losing their precious jobs as his rubber stamps in our legislature. I can count the Republican Senators on one hand who are either not purchased or terrified.

So what the heck do we do now at this late date after he owns better than 3/4 of our legislature? Nothing. That's my guess. Not only NO leadership; NO will either. Never has been to fight them or we wouldn't be where we are now - one election away from handing our country over to Soros et.al.

It’s too bad the leftists don’t realize they will become part of the camps that Hillary plans. Then, what are they going to do? Protest and whine some more.

I've always said the best thing to happen to our country will be when my generation dies out.

The leftists in this country are few. They are old 60’s loonies who became professors or apparachniks with secure jobs.

The ones who we accuse of being leftists aren’t. They are criminals using the 60’s leftist ideology to steal from the American people. They hide behind the koolaid drinkers all in the name of political correctness.

Harry Reid is not a liberal. He is a criminal. Same with Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Schumer. Only Hillary could be even remotely considered a Stalinist.

Tancredo - not in the Senate. Hope I’m not leaving anyone off - Jim DeMint, Inhofe, the Dr. from OK (can’t remember his name,) Sessions, Cornyn (? iffy IMO). Top of my head - have to check the list state by state and see if I missed anyone.
