FCC Chief Says Fairness Doctrine Not Needed

WASHINGTON - (AP) - The Federal Communications Commission has no intention of reinstating the Fairness Doctrine imposing a requirement of balanced coverage of issues on public airwaves, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin said.

I don't put it past them to try ... but if the Dems really think they could censor conservative talk radio without sparking a near revolution in this country, they've lost all touch with reality.

The anger over the immigration debacle would seem like a Sunday School picnic in comparison.

If a post 2008 majority D congress drafts a bill reinstating the FD and sends it to a D president who happily signs it, could the FCC be forced to impose the FD whether it wants to or not? That’s the question-though that quibble/musing aside, this announcement is great news!
