Yes, this has been heating up just under the surface.
It could blow up again as a naval firefight this year. N. Korea will push it as it had been before. This is one of their pet agenda.

I asked a friend recently retired from the East Asian section of C.I.A. intelligence if he could tell me anything non-sensitive about N. Korea.

He said that while it’s hard to get on-the-ground agents there, they do get reports and they’re wildly different each week. Sometimes they hear “these guys just want to be left alone” and sometimes they here “these guys are gunning for a fight, and they want it now.” Go figure. This has got to be one of the strangest, and scariest, places on Earth.
