I don’t know how you get that out of the story. It says it was a drug related robbery. That could easily mean that the perp was trying to get money for drugs. The victim could have been anyone.

Why would she get the accomplice boot the door in to make it look like a robbery?
Looks like they were waiting for her because she was carrying something they wanted.
She was trying to avoid the cops asking her that question by booting the door in making it look like she suprized would-be robbers.

That's what it looks like to me, but of course I could be wrong.
