Well, maybe the Fairtax site caliming it as such will force him to clarify. Or maybe he’ll keep his mouth shut and ride the wave.

We’ll see what happens if some anti-fairtaxers confront him.

Fred is not the plain talker that Fred supporters make him out to be. He’s very good at not answering a question clearly when he doesn’t want to.

He still hsan’t said jack squat about globalism and the SPP.

He has said plenty about globalism, you just haven’t been listening.

“A sovereign nation loses that status if it cannot secure its own borders.” - Fred Thompson.

Globalism is ill-defined so there is nothing to say about it other than when an event placed in the ‘globalism’ category threatens America’s sovereignty.

So the right way to ask FDT about globalism is to ask questions such as how he views for example the Kyoto Protocol from intruding on American sovereignty.

Asking someone about ‘globalism’, like what does that mean?
Does it mean I can skype my wireless iPhone while visiting London from Seattle? Does it mean my Mastercard works in Tusca?

So you have to narrow it down.

As for the SPP, that is an illegal treaty exercise masquerading as some sort of feel good forum discussion. FDT has something to say about that through his fedseralist philosophy. It’s Ok to ask him that, it’s fair game.

His recent Council on Foreign relations (CFR) response about not knowing the CFR was behind the NAU is correct. The CFR has had white papers on the NAU and how to expect a ‘xenophobia’ reaction in the USA, but those white papers are written by liberal think tank academics. Most think-tankers are liberal because they are idealistic without the benefit of practical experience.

Is CFR liberal? Yes.

In what sense? In the sense that most of its membership subscribes to socialism for the masses and one-world government. They subscribe to the idea that an elite is better equipped to run political affairs rather than leave decision making to a representational form of government elected by xenophobes, extremists and Talk Radio listeners.

Is FDT liberal and elite by association with CFR? No.

Why is he a member of CFR? He answered he wants to hear them and communicate with them. They are an influential group backed by extreme power and wealth. He needs to communicate with them because of the influence they have.

Was Ronald Reagan liked by members of CFR? Initially no.

Why did RR mingle and discuss policy with CFR? Because not all members of CFR are evil, many are misguided and ill-informed. RR was able to convince alot of people in CFR of his economic and social ideas. He won alot of them over.

Since RR has been out of power, the CFR membership has drifted more to the left. It is time to pull them back to the right.

It would be a fair question to ask FDT how he plans to persuade members of CFR that his philosophy of contemporary American federalism is workable not only for the USA but for the world, that is, how will the changes he will cause through his leadership affect foreign markets and politics.
