I read Steyn’s colunns on this occasionally during the trial and his take was uniform throughout: This was an over-drawn criminal indictment and prosecution that turned into a long rather boring showtrial for the lawyers.
He didn’t make enough lawyer jokes. eg. Why don’t sharks eat lawyers? Professional courtesy.

Hmmmm. I read this after reading Mark's latest on Hugh Huwitt. I expected to hear evidence rebutting the charges. Instead, he slams Black's lawyers.
Steyn is my favorite opinion writer, but this was, I thought, an unworthy piece. He just seems to feel really bad for his friend.
