(July 28, 2007 - AMTW/AR) - As the 2008 elections approach, the American public seems hungry for the every-man, someone untouched by the trappings of incumbent power. They are hungry for someone in touch with working America, who understands the reality of going to work every day and paying taxes. A candidate with fresh ideas who is not corrupted by special interests. It is the state of Illinois that seems to have found one such every-man, an American trucker named Mike Psak, has joined in the Senatorial race against liberal Democrat incumbent, Dick Durbin.
Psak, who holds a Masters in Business Administration from DePaul University and a bachelors of science in math/computer science from the University of Illinois, grew weary of the daily grind of sitting within the confines of his four-walled office. The open road called and Psak joined tens of thousands of hard working American truckers delivering food, fuel and other goods across the United States.

Nobody trusts Congress anymore...poll numbers in the basement. I think his chances are much better than most would think.
Durbin is a loser. Anyone who runs against him has to be a winner. (Hope I never have to regret that statement)
Truckers Ping...
Good for this guy. I hope he does it and wins. The truckers have been jerked around for years.
After reading about him; he sounds like he could do the job. We are looking for those that will keep America, America.
Read what he stands for on his web page, he sounds like a freeper to me!
We could use at least a dozen working guys like this compared to: Schumer, Kennedy, Rockefeller, Bird, etc. etc.
Psak Durbin!
Agreed. I always thought “career politicians” were a bad idea. Perhaps this will motivate other regular folks to run in their states.
I've been reading John Adams by David McCullough. This an excerpt from a letter sent by John Adams to his son, John Quincy Adams:
Public business, my son, must always be done by somebody. It will be done by somebody or other. If wise men decline it, others will not; if honest men refuse it, others will not. A young man should weigh well his plans. Integrity should be preserved in all events, as essential to his happiness, through every stage of his existence. His first maxim should be to place his honor out of reach of all men. In order to do this he must make it a rule never to become dependent on public employments for subsistence. Let him have a trade, a profession, a farm, a shop, something where he can honestly live, and then he may engage in public affairs, if invited, upon independent principles. My advice to my children is to maintain an independent character.
Wise words. Too bad they never made it down the line to the current crop of MASS. politicians.
The guy you linked too looks a bit batty, probably from drinking some diesel. The Illinois Senate candidate, on the other hand, looks not too shabby.
