Gingrich predicts Clinton-Obama ticket

Democrats will nominate Hillary Rodham Clinton for president in 2008 and Barack Obama will be her running mate, former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich predicts.

The GOP will have three "formidable" choices in Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson, said Gingrich, who is considering whether to get into the race.

Gingrich is ruling out John McCain's chances among the Republican contenders.

The Arizona senator "has taken positions so deeply at odds with his party's base that I don't see how he can get the nomination," Gingrich said Sunday in a broadcast interview.

Gingrich said he had dinner recently with Thompson, the former Tennessee senator and actor who has set up a political committee that allows him to raise money for a presidential bid. An official launch is likely in September, after the Labor Day holiday.

Gingrich said he expects Thompson will enter what is shaping up as a competitive race for the GOP nomination against Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, and Giuliani, a former New York City mayor.

"I think that either Mayor Giuliani or Governor Romney or Senator Thompson would be a very formidable opponent for what I expect will be a Clinton-Obama ticket, and I think that there's a possibility that will work," Gingrich said.

Sadly, the Presidential Race of 2008 will end up in a race of Worse v. Worser.

Yes, Stalin’s bride will be the Dim runner, no matter what. Osama Obama is a good chance, but not a done deal, yet. Both flaming socialists. Just what America needs, but the Dim kool-aid drinkers would vote for Joseph Stalin, if he were the pick, as long as it has the Dim name it, makes no difference....

Usually a VP candidate is picked to buttress the shortcomings of the presidential candidate; ie a northerner for a southerner, a conservative for someone more liberal or a VP with foreign policy experience for a governor. Happily the negatives of each candidate in a Clinton/Obama ticket are additive. I can’t see one state that they could take over what Kerry carried in ‘04.

I wonder if Obama remembers someone named “ Vince Foster “ ??

Just a little something he should keep in the back of his mind whenever he’s near Schrillary whenever his back is turned .

Out of all the names in this article I believe Gingrich would make the best President. I doubt he would ever be elected to the White House because most Americans don’t have a clue what makes a good politician\statesman. We’re finishing almost 20 yrs of Bush-Clinton-Bush and looking at the possiblity of another Clinton being elected so that tells me pretty much all I need to know !!!

Osamabama and Clintoon each have huge “will not vote for” numbers. Running together will just add those numbers together for their ticket.

I would love to see them try though!

True. But the American voter is so self-absorbed and ignorant of political reality, it won’t happen...he is the most qualified TRUE CONSERVATIVE on the long list...it is up to he or Fred...only they can keep the hammer-and-sickle out of the White House.

Not Clinton-Obama, but Obama-Clinton.

If she goes in as president she’ll get merely another eight years.

If she goes in as VP and pulls the strings while Barak does pressers and fund raisers, she can get another sixteen years to go along with the eight she already has.

Then she can be social director for sixteen years of Chelsea- Caroline Kennedy.

But my real prediction is for Gore-Kerry 2008, who both are now sounding curiously in sync about saving the planet from orbital precession.

Both of them have to big an ego to pick the other as a running mate. They wouldn’t allow the comparisons.
