Why Does Tommy Thompson, who was an outstanding governor, continue diminishing himself with this absurd charade?

He has nothing distinctive to offer. He ISN’T going to be the nominee. Seriously, what is motivating guys like Thompson to stick around? He doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who’s just on an ego trip like Ron Paul. Nor does he doesn’t have a burning issue he cares about like Tom Tancredo. What the hell is his deal? Same with Sam Brownback, Jim Gilmore, and Mike Huckabee.

On the other hand, I suppose he doesn’t have much else to do....

Someone please explain to me why the heck Jimmy Carter continues to punish himself by sticking around the Presidential campaign. C'mon Jimmy, these are the big leagues, and nobody ever heard of you outside of Georgia. You're polling 2% nationally. IT'S OVER. Carter will be lucky to come to 8th place. The only people who have a prayer of winning the Democrat nomination are Lloyd Bentsen, Scoop Jackson, Mo Udall, and Birch Bayh. They, unlike Jimmy, are nationally known figures who have already raised millions of dollars. Even the unelectable George Wallace is polling higher than Jimmy, and he has Jimmy's "base", old fashioned blue-collar southern Democrats, locked up. Jimmy Carter... what is this... some kind of joke?

I think Tommy should have ran in 2000. He's a solid conservative and reformer but people have forgotten about him now.

It's possible he may win Iowa, though.
