Bin Ladin’s family is very powerful and connected. Indirectly the Saudi government - or various royal family members - could have been involved. We will never know for sure one way or the other.

If you say so. How do you know that Saudi Arabia isn’t also doing backroom deals with China, for instance? How do you know what they intend to do with which we are supplying them? I thnk they are going to start a region-wide civil war - Sunni v. Shia.

We need to hit our Congress critters just like we did with the immigration bill. No arms sales to Islamicist countries!

“No lets drive these nations into the arms of the Chinese or the Russians or the French, (or worse a neutrality pack with Iran)just because a bunch of American political trash, along with their Leftist allies in the US Junk Media, hate the current Preisdent for not granting their every domestic political whimsy the second they decided they wanted it”

Glad to see you are in your typical good mood! Have a great day! Why is it liberals are so full of hate and conservatives manage to retain a bit of a sense of humor?

So you think it a good idea to sell arms to the Saudis? Why? To try to keep them our ‘friends’?

The Saudi royal family is hanging on by a thread and the Wahabists would love nothing more than to topple them. I truly believe it is only a matter of time.

I think we are playing three dimensional chess with the Russians... just like we did during the First Cold War... because we are in a Second Cold War with them now.

I also think that the Saudis could counter with a pretty convincing argument that the dims, the left and others are as pro al qaeda as the madrassas in their Kingdom. We also have American Citizens fighting on behalf of al qaeda... so there is evidence that “some” Saudis are fighting with us as staunch allies. Petraeus stated this on Bad Morning America today. He also said ALL of the Saudis they catch come in through syria, due to the fact that the Saudis have their border pretty much under control.

I will NO LONGER accept media reports without trusted sources backing it up. I will NEVER gain fall for a schumer led attack like the Dubai Ports deal again. I will NOT become a useful tool like so many here on FR! That is exactly how I feel at this point... and I think it is a good stance to take.

Yeah there a real smart tactic. Scream your ignorance LOUDER rather then bother to learn a single thing that does not validate your emotion based 100%er political dogmas.

Curious, does George Soros send you a Christmas card to thank you for the way you relentlessly propagandize for the Moveon.org Left?

Cause what ever your real political opinions, your whine all the time ranting are the exact sort of thing a Democrat National Committee activist would use as political PR.

Surprise us one time. Instead of desperately seeking everyday any excuse to stick a knife in what is suppose to be your own side's back, actually ONE time attack the Leftists on ANYTHING.

Undermining prime minister Nuri al-Maliki by giving financial assistance to his political opponents...

Financing Maliki's political opponents is not undermining Maliki or his Iranian backed friends. The [reasonable] demands of elected Sunni officials in the Iraqi Parliament include the dis-armorment of Iranian backed militias responsible for the Balkanization of Iraq. They are protesting Maliki's inability or unwillingness to curb Iran's influence in Iraq and curb the stratification of Iraqi society because of militias. Indeed, Saudi support is doing the opposite of what this article suggests. Saudi support is stabilizing Iraq by protesting Maliki's policies on Iran backed militias.

waging a months-long campaign to recruit other Persian Gulf countries to give financial aid to Sunni tribal groups;

This [tribal] effort is driving the successes we've witnessed in Al-Anbar and Diyala against terrorists there. Why? Because we've finally realized that our success must go through legitimate, indigenous forces willing to be helped, and willing to help others. In the process of democratization, the voice of the Iraqi people will be heard. It remains to be seen if the world is willing to listen.

and looking the other way as some 60 to 80 foreign insurgents from Saudi Arabia enter the fray in Iraq each month.

While any number of foreign fighters entering Iraq is unacceptable, the idea that the Saudis are looking the other way is a fabrication. The Saudis have gone to great lengths to prevent their people from engaging in violence in Iraq's theater of operations. But, let's take this lie at face value. Even if the Saudis were only looking the other way, that implies they are not encouraging more violence in Iraq. Iran, on the other hand is officially encouraging violence in Iraq through rhetoric and action. The Saudis know Iran is prone to destabilize nations through support of Shiite [opposition] movements in those nations. The pattern is clear. Last year, Mahmood Ahmadinejad's Mecca trip called for Muslim solidarity against the enemies of Islam - essentially nullifying the importance of Middle Eastern governments who work with the United States. Tehran is openly crowning itself region master and what's happening in Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Venezuela, to name just a few... are signs that make the Saudis very concerned.

When it comes to the Saudis as a reliable global trading partner, no one should underestimate the role Saudi plays in stabilizing [or conceivably disrupting] the global economy. If you have any doubt about how the global economy works, how our service based economy works, how reliant the majority of the products you buy are on petroleum - then you should reconsider your tone when you write about our friends the Saudis. Does any of what I just said claim that our International relations with the Saudi government is not strained at times by official Saudi policies; yes problems exist. But the article you posted does not approach them.

I am not going to say you’re not justified. There is so much duplicity and double-dealing on all sides I guess maybe none of us knows what’s going on and can or should have an opinion.

Gee, let’s see. I have posted straight-down-the-conservative line items on illegal immigration, embryonic stem cell research, abortion, and so many other topics. I really don’t know where you or your vitriol is coming from. Do us all a favor and take some Metamucil, OK? You’ll feel so much better getting all that crap out of your system.

Bush makes no such claims today... and Bush saw exactly what satan... er pooty wanted him to see. What is important is that Bush understands what is at stake today.

pooty has started fighting Cold War Two... but his arse can’t cash the checks. We will have to bleed them again for awhile. Look to the ME arms deals that were leaked today. Bush not only plays poker well... he plays 3D chess pretty well also.

Isn’t it interesting that the Dubai Ports deal was a front for the CIA to gain access to ports we only dream about getting intel from? The more one learns... the more one sees the fifth column of the msm at work... and far too many FReepers fall for it time and again.

Bush was 100% dead wrong on Amnesty... just had to say it. His border actions have sucked also... but there is hope.
