Thanks for the ping!
Attention Ford owners... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1876064/posts
Mine’s older, ‘85 and my speed control is my big foot! LOL
if nothing else, this is cool for us old diehards...
Clemson, which has one of the nation’s elite motorsports and mechanical engineering departments, will have student scholarship and internship opportunities funded by DEI, including one annual scholarship in the College of Engineering and Science honoring the Intimidator’s memory. If nothing else, it was just surreal to have Wicked Stepmother Teresa on Clemson’s campus and at the site of Clemson’s International Center for Automotive Research in Greenville, which offes the nation’s only master’s and doctoral graduate degree programs in automotive engineering and unique research and testing resources
I’ve railed on this post about the NASCAR/ESPN relationship and how poor I think it is. Now comes this from Tony Stewart. Good for him!
http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/7089482?MSNHPHMA
That article is almost scary.
Dude who wrote it has some serious mental problems.
From the article;
“They needed to do that and you understand why,” he said. “It’s just one of those deals that you’re so excited you’re not even thinking about what you’re saying. But NASCAR did the right thing.”
Now see post #101
Yes it is.
The author sounds like one of us... it’s quite refreshing.
Stewart talked to the media behind his hauler after qualifying on Friday at Pocono Raceway, and the former champ made it plainly and cleanly clear that hell pick and choose when to speak with reporters from ESPN.
If every time we do an interview and you want to stand here and dig up dirt, you might as well go find somebody else because well wait until you leave before we do the rest of the interviews, Stewart said, responding to a question from reporter David Amber.
Stewart pointed around him and wondered why ESPN couldnt ask positive, creative questions like the rest of the media. Stewart has had run-ins with the media before, however, but he took this opportunity to turn the tables and bash the cable network that is televising Sundays Pennsylvania 500.
Every time weve got to deal with somebody from ESPN its a sharp knife trying to dig for dirt, he said.
Im not saying theyre not fair questions. Do we always have to leave with a dagger on our back from ESPN? Thats all Im curious about.

I hope they carded him first. :) I actually like their choice of driver and team.
Kahne and Bud...a done deal? hearing #9-Kasey Kahne has already signed with Budweiser, an announcement could be coming in the next couple of weeks.(8-3-2007)
I bet someone paid her to do that. LOL j/k
What Earnhardt Jr. gained on the track, he nearly lost off of it.
As his No. 8 Chevy was pushed by team members the gas pumps after qualifying, track medical personnel traveling in a Gator 4-wheeler suddenly stopped in front of Earnhardt Jr.s car. The team couldnt stop the car and the two collided.
The guys couldnt stop the car, there isnt any way when you come off of those ramps (at the gas pumps). It hit pretty good and smashed the nose back, said Earnhardt Jr.s crew chief, Tony Eury Jr.
It had a Gator tire print on it.
Eury said the team had nearly completed repairs on the car when the garage closed Friday night. Asked if the damage would affect the car, Eury said, Itll be all right. We pretty much got it fixed.

Okey dokey Busch race from Montreal is on..........no one is here. :(
I’m going to IP and turn on the screen capper.
I find it weird they chose Montreal, since it is where ratings in Canada are lowest...I would estimate 90-95% of the crowd is not from Montreal - some from far-flung Quebec, many from Ontario, many from New York and New England...
Wha happened to the green???
I think it was AB that said, "Jr, your car doesn't look so pretty any more!"
Think I gotta root for Boris today, or R Gordon.
I was gonna make a comment during last week’s race about the (lack of) quality of the announcers, but nobody was saying anything so I figured it was just me. The earlier posts on this thread however, seem in line with my thoughts...ESPN is terrible.
Bad choice... They are only running 3rd and 4th... :)
