Minuteman Project Receives Glowing Financial Audit Report

The long-awaited results of a financial audit of the Minuteman Project were presented publicly today with a positive audit report that establishes the integrity of that organization and its president, Jim Gilchrist.

The audit firm’s “unqualified” report is the most prestigious and complimentary opinion that can be given to a company by the accounting and audit industry in the United States. The audit was conducted by the Burbank, Ca. CPA firm of Terrence Milaney.

“I am elated,” Gilchrist said of the results of the two-month-long audit of the immigration law enforcement advocacy group he founded almost three years ago to bring national awareness to the nation’s illegal alien invasion crisis.

“I never doubted that the Minuteman Project would come through its annual audit with flying colors,” Gilchrist added.

The auditor’s report stated that the financial position of the Minuteman Project was in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles “in all respects.”

The Minuteman Project, founded by Gilchrist on Oct. 1, 2004, spawned a coast-to-coast movement with several hundred independent minuteman organizations sprouting up nationally. Gilchrist, known for maintaining a policy of openness to law enforcement, tax authorities, and the media, said transparency is the best policy in the business of volunteer activism.

Gilchrist’s advice to the many minuteman groups across the country: “Let’s get on with saving our country. Come on, Americans. Let’s roll!”

Gilchrist added that he expects those who attempted to steal the Minuteman Project several months ago will continue harassing him and his associates with frivolous lawsuits, malicious defamation, and other types of interference designed to stall the minuteman movement.

The audit report and accompanying financial statements will be available for viewing on the Minuteman Project and Gilchrist’s personal web sites on August 3.

There is a funny story behind your post. Jim didn’t settle the suit, Marvin Stewart did without authorization. Although Marvin and Deborah Courtney made off with the $9,000 dollars, the press gave Jim all the credit and didn’t so much as mention the hijackers.

It’s just the two of them now; Paul Sielski is facing 25 years in prison and Barbara Coe swam away from the sinking wreckage long ago.

The request had been rejected by Jamillah Moore, interim superintendent of Compton Community College...

....and will allow the group’s use of campus facilities with the main requirement information about counter-demonstrators who could be expected, in order to prepare security, officials said.

That's easy. Just point them to La Raza's web site.

Thanks to another freeper, we might find a few posters here who might want to apologize.

That thread seems to be about Simcox, not Gilchrist. Are there some specific posts in that thread that refer to Jim?

I hope by now everyone understands the difference between Jim Gilchrist/Minuteman Project (Good audit!) and Chris Simcox/MCDC (What audit???)

Mr. Gilchrist impressed me as a man of the highest caliber of morality and sincereness when he held a meet in Nashville. Rolling Thunder members from all over the nation treated us to a “rumble” before the speakers got going. Just awesome.

I was the MC for the Nashville rally. We had been on the road for a week with the Minuteman Caravan by the time we got there. Spirit of Allegiance was Jim's driver to that rally point. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

You were very good, too! I shook hands with the both of you (I think) after most of the attendees dispersed and mentioned Free Republic. You guys put up with a lot of crap on the tour yet persevered. How did you like those State Troopers over on the TN State Capital watching for a nervous tic? Shades of 1933 Germany.

CPA firms do not issue “glowing audit reports”. The best audit report a company will get from a CPA firm will essentially state that the auditors found that, in their opinion, the company’s financial statements present fairly in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles the results of operations and financial position of (client name) as of (Fiscal year end date and the year then ended.)

This press release is B.S.

Tom (30 yr experience as CPA.)

Not odd at all that a CPA firm does not appear on a Google search. For at least the first 2/3 of my career, CPA firms were prohibited from advertising. And, the CPA firm name is on page 10 or so of the client annual report. Google does not go that deep. No news is good news if you are a CPA.

If you do a Google search of “CPA”, you probably will find a bunch of references to Enron, McKesson & Robbins, and other large, publicly held bankrupt companies and broken CPA firms.

If the liberal idiots at Google were feeling magnamous, you may even find that the CPA firm in the Enron fiasco was absolved of culpability, after they (and about 1,000 partners) were forced to declare bankruptcy due the witch hunt the democommies and the MSM performed in that case.

Hey, that’s no proB. That entire Minuteman Project vs. Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, ie, Jim Gilchrist (MMP) vs. Chris Simcox (MCDC) can be confusing. And when you have one of the two (Chris, MCDC) deliberately confusing the two in order to pull donation money away from the REAL Minuteman Project (Jim, MMP) well heck, the normal person on the street hasn’t got a chance of knowing which is which.

It’s easy for me, I started working with Jim on the original MMP in November of 2004 in advance of the April 2005 Project. But still, sometimes I have to really focus on a posting to “figger out” what is really being said. And with that…

So it isn’t really a firm, but an individual? Interesting.

I have expressed no opinion on Gilchrist and really don't have one, but Googling "Terrence Milaney" produces only two hits, both referencing this post. That's a little odd.

Try adding "CPA" and "Burbank" to your search and you'll find a bit more, including the accountant's office address and telephone numbers.

I don't doubt that he exists, and I really do not have any opinion about the Minuteman organization or its finances.

But let's say that 'Brother Harris', noted TV evangelist accused of playing fast and loose with the collection plate, announces that his ministry's finances have been investigated and approved by a CPA who barely registers on Google (and certainly not as a forensic accountant)... don't we wonder just a little? A KPMG audit, for instance, would be a lot more convincing.
