Minuteman Project Receives Glowing Financial Audit Report

The long-awaited results of a financial audit of the Minuteman Project were presented publicly today with a positive audit report that establishes the integrity of that organization and its president, Jim Gilchrist.

The audit firm’s “unqualified” report is the most prestigious and complimentary opinion that can be given to a company by the accounting and audit industry in the United States. The audit was conducted by the Burbank, Ca. CPA firm of Terrence Milaney.

“I am elated,” Gilchrist said of the results of the two-month-long audit of the immigration law enforcement advocacy group he founded almost three years ago to bring national awareness to the nation’s illegal alien invasion crisis.

“I never doubted that the Minuteman Project would come through its annual audit with flying colors,” Gilchrist added.

The auditor’s report stated that the financial position of the Minuteman Project was in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles “in all respects.”

The Minuteman Project, founded by Gilchrist on Oct. 1, 2004, spawned a coast-to-coast movement with several hundred independent minuteman organizations sprouting up nationally. Gilchrist, known for maintaining a policy of openness to law enforcement, tax authorities, and the media, said transparency is the best policy in the business of volunteer activism.

Gilchrist’s advice to the many minuteman groups across the country: “Let’s get on with saving our country. Come on, Americans. Let’s roll!”

Gilchrist added that he expects those who attempted to steal the Minuteman Project several months ago will continue harassing him and his associates with frivolous lawsuits, malicious defamation, and other types of interference designed to stall the minuteman movement.

The audit report and accompanying financial statements will be available for viewing on the Minuteman Project and Gilchrist’s personal web sites on August 3.

It seems that there are quite a few globalist freepers who need to apologize to Jim Gilchrist. They should offer their apologies on this thread.

I have expressed no opinion on Gilchrist and really don't have one, but Googling "Terrence Milaney" produces only two hits, both referencing this post. That's a little odd.

I don’t have time right now, but I’d like to do a search of previous threads with freepers accusing Gilchrist of being crooked.

Yeah, did a search for the CPA firm and got zero also. I support(ed) the Minutemen and was concerned about the finances. Was waiting for an outside audit to set things straight but unless someone can verify this CPA firm I’m still stand-offish.

It would seem so, but that would assume good character.

Censorship of Minuteman Project ending
Monday, July 30, 2007 -

Jim Gilchrist’s Minuteman Project, an organization that concerns itself with the protection and sanctity of the U.S. border, will be given access to public facilities at Compton Community College in California for a town hall meeting under a lawsuit settlement that is being worked out now.

Lawyer Michael Sands of the Pro Family Law Center told WND that an agreement with the school should be final shortly.

The lawsuit had been filed when Compton officials refused the Minuteman Project permission to use any facilities on campus for a town hall meeting about illegal immigration, border security and other issues, citing a rule against allowing buildings to be used by “special interest or advocacy groups.”

Gilchrist, the project founder, has told WND his group’s members are worried over incidents such as an incursion earlier this year in Arizona, where U.S. National Guard troops actually retreated in the face of oncoming - and armed - attackers from south of the border.

His group works to publicize such concerns, and develop support for solutions.

But documents obtained by the organization showed the school already had opened up its facilities to a “Farrakan Event,” a “Multi-cultural Youth Peace Summit/Registration Drive” and “The Black Student Union and Muhammad’s Mosque Peacemakers.”

“Once you open up a school to one special interest group, you have to provide equal access,” Sands told WND at the time. “They (school officials) could be putting forth some sort of agenda. They have to open up their facilities to all other groups who properly apply for permission.”

The request had been rejected by Jamillah Moore, interim superintendent of Compton Community College, and the lawsuit alleged the school denied the Minuteman Project equal access to the use of facilities based on the content of the speech intended to be engaged in by the Minuteman Project.

The school has offered to pay the Minuteman Project $9,000 in fees and damages and will allow the group’s use of campus facilities with the main requirement information about counter-demonstrators who could be expected, in order to prepare security, officials said.

Sands said he understands the school’s need for information that could help it prepare security.

“I don’t think that’s burdensome on my client, to basically provide that information to them,” he told WND.

He said the school also previously had demanded a $14,000 security fee from the organization, a fee not charged to others using the facilities, so that now has been waived.
