"Face it, we are TOO OPEN in the USA. Most countries on this planet would NEVER reserve such "rights" to people not legally on their soil."

"We are such saps. How did we get this way!!!??? It defies all logic and fairness."

It isn't about logic, it is about a predisposition to destroy our way of life.

Someday in this illegal immigration debate some judge is going to read this.

He may have. The judge thinks Hazelton's law violate international agreements.

From GlennBeck.com:

MAYOR BARLETTA: And a federal judge has granted that. And, you know, he made the claim that by removing illegal aliens, we will effect foreign alliances.

GLENN: That’s not his job.

MAYOR BARLETTA: That we should have contacted foreign countries to ask them if it’s okay to remove illegal aliens.

GLENN: He did not say that. Wait, wait, wait, wait. He did not say that.

MAYOR BARLETTA: I was asked during the trial when I was on the stand if I had called President Calderon to tell him about this ordinance before we passed it. And in the judge’s decision he said, by removing illegal aliens, we will effect foreign alliances.

GLENN: Let me tell you something. Anybody who said Mex-Ameri-Canada, that I was crazy for Mex-Ameri-Canada, here it is. We are now asking permission if we can enforce our own laws here? What was your response to him? MAYOR BARLETTA: I laughed. I thought the joke was a lighter moment in the trial, but the ACLU attorney was serious and obviously the judge agreed because he felt that we should have checked with other countries before we passed this law.

The judge also made the claim that the federal government wants some illegal aliens to remain in the country, that the government wants a balance, by closing off the border but allowing some illegal aliens in the interior. Now, I don’t know what law in this country of America said that we want illegal aliens to remain in the interior of the country, and this judge obviously was imposing his own views, and we nee

The USA is now a country that punishes its own citizens and grants favored status to those who break our laws bringing crime, disease, and gross financial burden to us.

I guess that does not matter to the elites. They live in their fancy communities. The closest they get to an illegal is to have their yardwork done.

Right now, they are in Congress sneaking components of that CIR into other legislation behind our backs.

Traitorous and un American. They have left “we the people” out of their agenda. Taxing us is all they do anymore.

We are such saps. How did we get this way!!!??? It defies all logic and fairness.

...not when it comes to the vote whores in Washington,DC. ..political correctness and the fear of being called a racist and a bigot by any group turns a politico to a spineless, blabbering idiot. The American public's ability to forget in a week and "move on" all contribute to our current crisis. The refusal of Congress to enforce laws, in many cases, block and hamper enforcement, because of political contributions given by many industries who hire illegals all result in the problem. Sadly it comes down to the American people who must hold their feet to the fire on this issue....doing it daily ,weekly, or monthly, by phone, email, snail mail whatever means...... Congress much like the Taliban and AQ.......simple wait till things cool down, with the help of the liberal news media who keep things off the front page. Out of view ,out of mind. Unless they get swamped by a constant stream of "reminders" of what their responsibilities are......they do nothing,....until election time and crow loudly about accomplishments. Until the American people start boycotting offending companies who hire, avoid ID checks, and pay illegals, nothing will change. The old line "doing jobs Americans won't do" has been and still is being used. Construction, trucking, and other "jobs" have all been influenced by "cheap labor" When Congress is exposed for what it is......a bunch of power money hungry blow hards, they act.....very slowly until the heat subsides. A telling irony shines through last week's ruling by a federal judge that found only Congress can set immigration law.

The founding fathers were very, very clear. The federal government should be the weakest part of our government. The local government should be the strongest because the closer you get to the people, the more it is in connection with the people and its will .........That's why you're seeing communities (like Hazelton) starting to step in........

Incompetence surely! The case will never hold up on appeal.

How much money do you want to bet?

The judge was simply ruling on the existing law.

Isn't the RULE OF LAW your side's entire foundation for calling for the deportation of all illegals?

Calling for a recall of the judge is comical to say the least.

The real only way to change the law is to elect representatives that will do YOUR bidding.

One more time....seal the borders and get an accounting of who's here right now. Get them on the tax rolls and streamline the archaic process now in place.

Face it. This country isn't going to deport Hispanics who are here peacefully and contribute to the local economies. Not on any broad scale they're not.

Are YOU that stupid, or do you think WE are that stupid?

We remember the prior "one time, never again, we swear!" amnesty in 1986.

Hey Travis...

I was there to welcome you back from your last suspension in here...which you were kind enough to acknowledge.

Interesting that the the first words you typed here were to insult and not engage.

Also, more interesting is the fact you didn't address the other points in my post...regarding a willingness to wager the poster that any appeal of Hunley's ruling will not be overturned.

The only pragmatic way to deal with this latest immigration debacle is to:
1) Seal the border(s)
2) Register by firm deadlines every illegal inside our borders by giving them valid tax IDs.
3) Put each one on a probation of sorts with the chance to become citizens.

Anything other than that will meet much success.

I find it amazing that a judge, someone who is supposed to uphold the law, is advocating for lawlessness.

Will someone please tell me which laws I can break? Which laws do the rest of us get to ignore? Why should we honor and respect the law when our own government, when our own courts advocate for scofflaws?
