I hate the UN so I’d sooner see it disbanded than play a role here.

That being said, it is rather rediculous to watch this self-proclaimed world body avoid taking a stand on the most pressing issues on the world stage.

Iran goes nuclear as it watches in silence. Korea went nuclear and abused international norms with it’s missile programs. The UN remained detached. Darfur rambled on for years. Starvation, rapes, genocide... again the UN was MIA when not committing the crimes. Then there was the oil for food. Do I value a potential role for the UN here? Hell no. It’s unfit to lead.

If anthing we should have shamed other nations to step up on this issue as well as Darfur sans the UN.

Not many nations have a moral backbone on our planet these days. Where is the Moslem world when it’s own need help? It’s very shameful.
