I just read recently that 90% of the world’s tornadoes occur in the US...and I wondered about the other 10% and where they may occur. Thanks for posting!

No need for panic. Tornados can be very serious if you’re in their path but, most are only a few hundred feet wide and are usually short-lived.

Got basement?

My wife, from Naberznhye Chelny (central Russia for those in Rio Linda as Rush would say), has experienced tornadoes in that area. Rare, but present.

They happen in China and Japan. Occasionally Africa and South America. It’s just that they usually don’t make the news.......

I didn’t know that Russia had tornadoes until recently. A month ago a tornado ripped through a southern town in Russia where a friend of mine lives. The winds blew off his roof in the middle of the night. Thankfully his family was not at home at the time and was spared the terrifying experience.
