I have LEO experience with the 'Black Muslims' going back to the early 70s in NYC, specifically 'Temple number 7' on 116th street and Lenox Ave (Farrakhan's home at the time). In those days it was a genuinely racist terrorist organization hiding behind the cloak of religion. It was they who hit Malcolm X further uptown at the Audubon Ballroom.

In the decades since there has been a deep schism. There were members who honestly saw themselves as muslims trying to build small businesses in Harlem (Your Bakery, Your Dry Cleaners, Your Grocery...). They threw out the thugs and gangsters. The thugs and gangsters just set up shop elsewhere and continued their criminal activities under the black muslim banner.

These Oakland gangsters are as muslim as Mary Poppins. They are nothing but criminals.
