Dude, if you fed the midget more than once a week maybe he could be a mini-body guard.

That might work except humble doesn't exactly have a mini-body.

;-)

That *can't* be the same young lady that shot my M-1 Carbine in the mud pit that was the 2nd annual Texas Cowboy Memorial Shoot, can it?

I guess it's been a long five years.

But not as long as the next five. You are in so much trouble ... and I say that as the father of two blond daughters, one now a law school grad (UT) the other working on her PhD at UT. The lawyer is pregnant ... with identical twin girls, which will be her second and third daughters. Number one is also blond. :)

This range doesn't allow the collection of brass as they sell it for scrap

Nothing wrong with those folks that a good enema wouldn't fix.

If/when we do that again, we will make sure that there is a gun available ~ just in case.

Given how well she shoots, how responsible she seems (at least around guns, boys may be a different matter entirely) , and given that it is YOUR HOUSE you are talking about, with what the police would surely call an arsenal, I'd be amazed and stupefied if there weren't.

I'll have to make it down to Houston for one of the shoots; it seems a lot closer now that I live in the same state.

Well, it's a big state. And the next shoot is not in Houston, a mite farther south/west along the coast, down near Corpus Christi. Could be worse, distance wise, it could be in Brownsville, or El Paso.

If you're in Dallas or nearby, Corpus is a good day's drive. Brownsville is a really long days drive. I couldn't believe how far Brownsville was, and I was driving from San Antonio.

I plan to take the day *before* the shoot off, or at least most of it. Possibly the Monday after as well. We'll see.

He has to surrender some of his liberty to even have a wife or children.

He did that completely voluntarily, AFAIK. And your statemetn isnt' correct anyway, many is the Muslim who has a wife or 4, without giving up his concubines, let alone any liberty he might have. Has children too.

When the government, (or society if you will) forces you to give up your liberty, that's a whole 'nuther thing. The sort of thing that caused a bunch of folks at Concord to shoot at the Official Government Gun Grabbers back in 1775.

I believe Thomas Jefferson, in the Declaration of Independence, wrote of "Inalienable rights", meaning those rights no legitimate government may take away.

We went to Deer Camp South, Eaker likes to bring all his toys with him. A person needs a different weapon when dealing with snakes, an alligator & evil cattails. ;-)

I can understand that. I like to drag all my stuff out whenever I can. My back doesn't, but I do. :) Time to buy TheGirl, TheGun. Of course given the laws these days, it'll have to remain the property of TheParents. IIRC, you could get in trouble for allowing her unsupervised access to it, possiblly even if she used it to defend herself. Kids in California are dead because of a similar Stupid Law for stupid people. Killed with pitchfork when the young girl couldn't get to the guns because of "lock up your safety"/"safe storage" type laws.
