There was a story earlier that a couple of Middle-Easterners were stopped with a carload of explosives. Then it was a trunkload, then it became a bag removed from the trunk of a car by an EOD robot, then an eyewitness with what was obviously a joke name became one of the primary sources. Not sure there’s much to this, at this point.

Are we sure they’re not going to blow up another “Tickle Me Elmo” ?

A bomb squad will demolish it, but they won't say what it was? LOL. I guess we can assume it wasn't a six pack of Coors Light.

No, haven’t you heard Elmo is filled with Chinese lead paint. He would actually be considered a dirty bomb.

Chinese supplying AQ with dirty bomb materials. Could be the start of one of them Urban Legends or the real stuff.

On a serious note, it’s darn hard to discern what is really happening in the USA. The MSM either extorts it or the government tries to “protect” us from the facts.

It’s been posted as of last night with extensive discussion. First reports said it was 2 Middle Eastern males with bomb materials. Interesting to see how it’s been PC’ed and dumbed down for the morning papers.

The article I read on Breitbart said that when exploded it made a sound like a firecracker.

Dang, guess I am going to have to run out for a brew then.
I was hoping to consume the evidence. ;)

The item made a loud bang, similar to a firecracker, when it was demolished, authorities said

That was the actual statement which is a little contradictory. Firecrackers don’t make a loud bang.

Firecrackers don’t make a loud bang.

They do if you throw them in a coffee can! or so I’ve heard.

M-80’s and cherry bombs make a loud bang but even blackcats can’t be described as loud. I speak from the experience of many pleasurable misspent hours in my yoot.

Sounds like it may have been a cap or caps (the blasting kind). I do not know!

An M-80 in a toilet makes a loud sound too...or, so I've heard, LOL.

M80s do ~ sound just like a 12 gauge shotgun when fired off in the air in a residential neighborhood.

We called in the cops to come take custody of a young man who had a "bag" of these things ~ he was walking down the middle of the road, lighting and tossing them in the air.

In general you are not allowed to possess a firework that big without a license.

As early experimenters with “explosives”......my brother and I cleared our entire street by dropping M-80s (ash cans/depth charges) down through pried open manholes in the street at the same time and about 40 yards apart from one another......

The result was FANTASTIC!

The subsequent unexpectedly LOUD explosive roar enhanced by the empty pipe below, momentarily scared even us — until we saw each others faces and began to laugh our asses off as we ran to avoid identification by the neighbors...

The two of us were about 9 or 10 at the time, and had purchased the M-80s with money earned by bagging and carrying groceries and cutting grass.

Mr G talks about the cherry bomb that was dropped in the toilet at our high school. As he recalls, it broke into several large pieces.
