War is the remedy our enemies have chosen, and I say give them all they want.-William Tecumseh Sherman

The political and military relationship between Lincoln, Grant and Sherman during the American Civil War is one of the most important in the history of humankind. What they did together should strike fear in the hearts of every imperialist, be they Islamist or otherwise. Make no mistake, they set a bold precedent and left a transparent paper trail to prove it. They showed us that the free mind combined with the certitude of righteousness will do what is necessary to sustain peace and domestic tranquility for all God's children. The question isn't if Americans will unite to fulfill their legacy, but when. Would we even know it when it happens? There are many who may disagree but I sincerely believe we Americans are living Lincoln's, Grant's and Sherman's legacy in 2007 without having to pay anywhere near the costs they did in 1864.

I'm not as optimistic as you are. The RATS have taken the head in the sand approach for political expediency, not unlike McClellan amassing the largest army and not using it.

We are in an epic battle between modernity and barbarism. We will either civilize the barbarians or we will have to fall back to the Americas and the second position seems to be the popular position.
