Shame On The Democrats Exploting The Tragedy (Bridge Collapse in Minneapolis)

Families are still huddled near the bridge but already Congressional Democrats are blasting the Bush Administration for failing to spend enough money on infrastructure. This is as indecent as it is stupid.
One briefing today declared there are 77,000 bridges in the same classification as the 35W. The problem is obviously the inspection process, not the expenditure --an inability to focus on and find those structures close to catastrophic collapse. The bridge was in fact undergoing a $9 million maintenance program, with many workers on the span when disaster struck. Would $9 million have been enough to repair whatever flaw it was that brought the bridge down? No one can know, but there certainly was enough money allocated to the 35W to at least inspect it adequately, which clearly was not done. There isn't a whisper of an argument that increased spending would have prevented this tragedy, and those making this argument even before bodies are recovered are acting in a shameful manner to exploit an awful human tragedy.

We all know the "2.1 billion" they spent (?) on Vikings stadium would have been enough to build four new bridges

As soon as I saw the pictures of the bridge collapse, I knew it was just a matter of time until it became a “Bush’s Fault” thing.

Democrats do this because they know their voters are unquestioning fllowers. For example, the traffic cop who died of reperatory problems after “working at ground zero”. Setting aside all the lies surrounding his case, he died while awaiting a lung transplant. That tells me that he was getting the best care money could buy.

Pointing out that Gov Huckabee actually DID HIS JOB and ensured the state maintained roads and bridges as they are legally required to do isn't exploiting a tragedy. It's a shame our state governors have let their infrastructure suffer to the point that a story about someone who actually did his job should be treated as a surprise. So let's be clear about this. The blame belongs to Minnesota...both the governor and the legislature. They are completely responsible and the President doesn't have jack sh*t to do with the state of their bridges.
FTR, I'm not a Huckabee supporter....but he's done something my governor refuses to do and that's worth mentioning.

Yeah, Larry Elder was on this one the day after the bridge collapsed. He said he had wondered how long it would take the libs to blame Bush for it. Not long at all, as it turned out. There were already accusations on that next day.

When have Democrats not exploited something? I’d be more shocked if they didn’t exploit tragedies, while doing nothing to fix the problem or help those in need.

Bridges don’t go from fine to collapsing in 6 years. Bubba should have fixed them.

Of the 535 elected members of Congress, can someone there tell me when the Constitution was changed and the executive branch was put in charge of writing and passing legislation?
It is Congress and state legislators fault that infastructure is falling apart.
