SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 5 — For the last 14 months, high-tech insiders have been eating up the work of an anonymous blogger who assumed the persona of Steven P. Jobs, Apple’s chief executive and one of the world’s most famous businessmen.
The mysterious writer has used his blog, the Secret Diary of Steve Jobs, to lampoon Mr. Jobs and his reputation as a difficult and egotistical leader, as well as to skewer other high-tech companies, tech journalists, venture capitalists, open-source software fanatics and Silicon Valley’s overall aura of excess.

Of course a Forbes guy is going to make fun of the OSS movement, those hippies, anarchists and libertarians aren’t going to buy 6 pages of ads for Linux.
He was (is) required reading at the higher echelons of Apple. Steve Jobs himself reportedly likes reading him.

He can’t very well come out and endorse it. But I know from friends who work at Apple that he did read it at least occasionally.

I don't care if anyone gets offended. What I like is that your favorite anti-OSS "blogger with a job at Forbes" was just proven to be a dishonest hack, a Microsoft shill. That's two anti-OSS journalists down (O'Gara was first), more to go. The fun thing is that the OSS community never has to discredit them -- they do it themselves due to the same sense of dishonesty that led them to attack OSS unfairly.

I think he's mad at Groklaw for a couple of reasons. First, he was a major SCO cheerleader while Groklaw exposed the whole sham, making him look like a fool. Second, Groklaw has publicly exposed Lyons' lies and character assassination, most famously about the MySQL/SCO deal. The guy can't even get simple facts straight about the GPL.
Obviously Jokelaw is the one who’s fallen apart, they’ve seen Novell partner with Microsoft instead, and even had to threaten to kick Linus Torvalds off the site permanently LOL. PJ telling him her mother runs Windows was classic, guess even PJ’s mom doesn’t believe the Linux hype LMAO. Meanwhile Lyons’ fame has grown significantly, Forbes is picking up his blog and he has a new book deal. Free software is yesterday’s news, Linux growth has actually fallen according to web browser stats and even Apache is about to fall to Microsoft’s IIS according to NetCraft. Even Digg has sold out to Microsoft, I’m sure you’ve got lots of leftists and foreign journalists willing to claim otherwise, but your house of cards is obviously collapsing.

Not my house of cards. Completely free software only makes up about 20% by title of the software I have (not even counting console games). I use software for its utility, not for philosophical reasons like you and your alter ego Stallman. And price isn't even in the equation. For example, I'd buy Firefox if it weren't free, but I won't use IE for regular browsing even though it is free.

Nice try. Lyons tried to portray the CEO as a poor businessman looking to make money and getting beat up by the OSS community for it. The CEO showed Lyons lied about some facts in the case. Them's the facts. Stop cranking up your Democrat-like spin machine to save Lyons. It's not working.
Lyons even tried to smear Groklaw, giving the impression that PJ found out about it and then went on a rampage. But the truth is PJ noted the deal right after it happened, with zero commentary. PJ didn't comment about it until over a month later when said CEO gave poorly-worded interview (which was cleared up in a later Groklaw interview that he requested).
You are still left with the fact that your favorite journalist is a liar. Nothing he writes can be trusted, but of course you'll trust him even with his history of lies and character assassination. It's funny how you can be so like both Lyons and Stallman at the same time.
