I read somewhere else he never explained the logic of the center being within “walking distance of city hall,” but the only property available under that criterion was the WTC property... owned by a Rudy contributor.

Clinton was a control freak. So was Johnson & Roosevelt.
All Dems, of course, but they had no trouble getting their programs thru Congress. Maybe that’s what’s required.

...locate the emergency command center in Brooklyn -- as he wanted it to be within walking distance of his City Hall offices in Manhattan.Let's see, this genius wants the emergency command center across the river via the Brooklyn-midtown tunnel and the BQE.

The former top antiterrorism aide to Rudolph Giuliani has told the U.K.s Sunday Telegraph that the presidential hopeful is "a control freak who micro-manages decision, he has a confrontational character trait and picks fights just to score points. This is sooo Rudy's character.

I would have to agree with this guy. Rudy is the wrong person to be in charge. WOT is one issue. WOT has many facets. Bush has taken on one facet, and has disregarded the others.
Rudy would even be worse. An extension +, of one facet, totally disregarding, as Bush has ,our border security and the well being of US citizens, not North Americans.

I have seen Rudy speak several times (twice in person, the rest on television) and all indicators are that he has yet to reach the learning curve on foreign policy. Saying we must "defend democracy" (Clemenza laughs) and "be tough on terrorists (what else can a semirational person say?) and other such soundbites betray a truly superficial nature, IMHO.
If he gives Fareed Zakaria a call, maybe I'll take him seriously.

Makes you wonder if Hauer is short for Hanover. “Fight-picking control freak...” sounds like an ex-wife’s opinion!
