I seem to be 11 seconds off. I’ll try to get recalibrated before Sunday.

Ok, and now some racing stuff. :-)

And on that note, my fair left coast friends, I’ll say, um, well, something cool in some foreign language that means I have to wake up at 4am and I’m going to keel over now.

“Feel free to enjoy the race with us!”

Thank you very much.

For the record, last Sunday’s IRL race had more draftin, beatin, bangin, swearing and yellin than any NASCAR race I’ve seen since Bristol was good.

Heck, they were even taking cars back to the pits, and tapin’ up the wrecked parts, and getting them back into the race! Now, taking a 218 mph car out when it’s wrapped in duct tape takes some nerve!

Anyway, I’ve going to the Michigan NASCAR race in 2 weeks, and that will mean 5 races plus Pole Weekend at Indy, plus all of the support races at those events. whew!

I don’t know why Nascar still goes to the road courses.

My idea has always been: One week Daytona, next week Talladega, repeat.

Where’s the race this week Daytona or Talladega? I forget.

“I don’t know why Nascar still goes to the road courses.”

Get out the map and look at the big cities near the course. And, look at the ownership of the track.

Watkins Glen, along with Pocono, is somewhat close to metro New York City. Certainly, the F1 races in the past drew from NYC, as did the uber rock concert in 1973.

ISC, which is controlled by the France family, owns Watkins Glen. To pull that race out of the Glen before there are viable profitable alternatives (IRL, CCWS, GrandAm, ALMS, vintage, etc don’t do more than break even) would mean a huge loss at the Glen.

This is a test...............does anyone have any comments???

Robby Gordon on NN last night said the following, and Boris Said agreed with everything Robby said. They asked him “Do you think if your name was Jeff Gordon instead of Robby Gordon, you would have been put in 13th” He said “I think we all know the answer to that!”
As far as intentionally getting into Ambrose, he said he didn’t know if it was intentional. He wanted to rattle him a little, but didn’t really want to spin him completely.

He said he had never heard of the “cautious speed” rule, and how can you do that when you’re spun around and not in control of your car? And he was spun under caution, so he didn’t understand how it could be a race incident. When he spoke to Nascar, he pointed out that a guy in tenth spot could just spin the other nine guys out under caution to get the lead and those guys would be placed back in the field.

He also said that when you get a black flag, your card is not pulled until you ignore it for 3 laps, and he was thinking about that in the car. If you think about it, he only ignored it for 2 laps.

Personally I think he should have not done the burnout, gone to the Nascar trailer and made his appeal. Although we all know Nascar will not change anything, but don’t make a fool of yourself even though you’re mad as heck.

I always have an opinion, whether I should keep it to myself is the question. ;)

I think it's an absurd attempt to "stir the pot" and create controversy where there's none. You could have easily removed Jeff Gordon and inserted Jr, Smoke, JJ, in short, any of the top drivers.

"I only meant to rattle his cage" is DE's response to spinning Terry Labonte out many years ago. OK, add another name to the "stir the pot" list.

IMO, he was in first and passed the yellow when he was spun out. This part might be challenged although we know Nascar will make the final call. Agree or disagree, that's how it is and it was yesterday and it will be tomorrow.

Spinning the leader out on the restart was where it began to go downhill.

Robby got screwed on the spin out, the video tape clearly showed that.

But then he disengaged the brain and got real stupid.

The whole world knew he was going to whack Ambrose, not 'rattle' him and yes, the burn out was just dumb.

He does, however, make a good agrument with the "cautious speed" rule.

Typical Nascar.....new weekend, new rules I guess.
