Hi Texgal. If you go to the SSA.gov website and click on business you can enroll to check out SSNs online, almost instantaniously. It;s a minor headache to enroll and then you have to wait on the password through snail mail but it sure takes a lot of the pain in the butt out of it in the long run.

Thanks for the info - I've signed up for the service. We don't get a lot of illegals in our rural area, at least not yet, but it can't hurt to be ready.
