A picture is worth a thousand words....I love the non-destructive way some opposed to this statue decided to show their dissatisfaction. If only others could take a lesson from this creative protest. :-)

reminds me of Gallagher’s description of California as being the ‘Granola state’:

“What ain’t fruits and nuts is flakes.”

Well let’s see. San Diego has an official month celebrating homosexuality and currently has a lawsuit against it by firefighters forced to attend a gay “pride” parade.

Is this a shock?

They should have put some boxing gloves on it too- it’d look like StrongBad in a dress.

Lots of pink. Is Callisto on the loose again?

At least they didn't break it, fwiw.

I think they should bite the bullet, and donate it to the San Francisco surfing community.

Or maybe Seattle. "It" would look lovely next to Lenin.

Better yet, P-town, MA.

Lightbulb! I know just the place:

Outside of Burlington, VT along I-89N

The artist, Matthew Antichevich, 55, of Hemet, said he is at a loss to explain the criticism.

“I'm not happy about it,” said Antichevich, a surfer himself. “I didn't expect it.”

I call BS. The artist is clearly not a surfer, or he would know what a surfer actually looks like while riding a wave.
