Chilling Effect

Newsweek equates global warming skeptics with Holocaust deniers and accuses reputable scientists of being paid to create confusion in the face of consensus. Galileo is once again on trial.

Even the supporters of global warming hype found the title of Newsweek's Aug. 13 attack on skeptics, "The Truth About Denial," offensive. The use of the word "denier" is deliberate, an attempt to paint as either crazy or corrupt what Al Gore has proclaimed as Truth. Reputable scientists have been accused by a major news magazine of being paid to lie.

"Let's be blunt," said Roger Pielke Jr. of the University of Colorado's Center for Science and Technology Policy Research. "This allusion is an affront to those who suffered and died in the Holocaust. This allusion has no place in the discourse on climate change. I say this as someone fully convinced of a significant human role in the behavior of the climate system."

Newsweek says "the denial machine is running at full throttle" and is a "well-funded campaign by contrarian scientists."

How well-funded? Newsweek cites Exxon Mobil "giving $19 million over the years to the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI)" to produce what eminent climatologist Sen. Jay Rockefeller is quoted as calling "very questionable data" on climate change.

No mention is made of the $3 billion contribution to the global warming crusade by Virgin Air's gazillionaire owner Richard Branson alone. Donations such as these are the reason the 2004 budgets of the Sierra Club Foundation and the National Resources Defense Council were $91 million and $57 million respectively.

Newsweak is an American equivalent of Pravda. Newsweak is a Leftist propaganda rag, no more, no less.

If Goebbels were alive and kicking today he would be able to identify his work in the study and execution of press control of the masses and give five gold stars to Newsweak.

I'm beginning to think the number of GW "believers" may be a direct function of excessives levels of lead in the public water systems (similar to generalized liberalism)

Newsweek’s circulation is plummeting. Of the three US weekly news magazines, I expect Newsweek will be the first to fold with a few years. Maybe sooner.

If Goebbels were alive today, he would be tearing the lining of his coffin trying to get out.

To the Liberal radical Left nothing is sacred or off-limits when touting their causes. The ends always justify the means. As always, the first thing sacrificed is the truth. The reason that there is so much venom from the Left regarding the “Global Warming” agenda is that they lack factual information or data that supports the hypothesis. Whenever, the Liberals are unable to debate their ideas, they resort to their often profane and hate-filled attacks. It’s what they do.

Al Gore fancies himself the modern day Galileo, but in fact he is the the front man of the power structure trying to stamp out any opposing view on man-made global warming.

But you have to admit that Science would never have made the great progress it has without the outstanding contributions from Newsweek.

I should add that I am a theoretical physicist, used to modeling physical systems, have never received a penny from any energy company, and object to the GW cr*p on scientific grounds.

Oh, so you've been studying the continuing lack of success of liberal-socialist models in creating economic wealth and providing for growth of economies.
