Exactly. The very fact that the government had to get involved at all, paying off some before they brought their own lawsuits, is a disgusting commentary on our society.
There shouldn't have been a payoff by the government, because there shouldn't have been even a THREAT of these lawsuits at all. The fact that these people now were too stupid to see the reason the government handed out all that money was to protect the damaged airline industry from frivolous lawsuits that would've bankrupted them, and NOT as some kind of admission of guilt, is in no way a reason to believe they have any case at all.
They don't and like others have said, I hope they don't get a cent. Because no one ever did deserve any money for "negligence" in the first place. In a way, all these lawsuits are doing the work bin Laden couldn't do; helping destroy our economy from within. I wonder if these people even realize they are actually helping our enemy.
