Hubby wears Accuviews and loves them. I tried them and couldn't stand them. Felt like I was wearing sandpaper, and they dried my eyes out instantly. I've been using Focus Night and Days for a few years now. Most comfortable lenses I have ever used.

As an aside, perhaps you should get the fit checked. Not sure if this is accurate, but we were told that the lens should overshoot the iris by a bit. If it rides on the area where the iris meets the sclera that can be a source of irritation. Any opthalmologists out there?

I use Focus Night and Day also...they are great. Tried other brands and I had problems.
