I find these trucks to be offensive when they go where children can see them.

I understand, but no one stops NARAL and Planned Parenthood and so forth from putting things (i.e. pictures of happy women who have, supposedly, improved their lives through abortion) where children can see them.

My nephew was horribly traumatized by one of these at the beach. It wasn’t fair.

It also isn't fair that he is slowly brainwashed by the things I mention above.

They give Pro-Life people a bad name.

In the view of some.

You don’t have the right to scare or sicken children so that you can show these horrors to the adults that need to see them.

And you don't have the right to tell someone what they can paint on their own truck.

Perhaps a child in an incubator with the words, “When Susie was born, it was legal to abort her. Stop the killing”

Save the bloody pictures for the nightspots.

Hmmmm, are you finding on this thread that people care more about the preborn than the born?

*************

It reveals a callousness I don't expect to find on a pro-life thread.

>>And you don’t have the right to tell someone what they can paint on their own truck.<<

Correct. I’m asking them to have some class and stay away from those venues targeted to preschoolers.

Fred Phelps has a right to protest. The Right doesn’t make it correct.

Target the nightlife with those trucks and do some good.

I guess by their being there, they are asking you to either suck it up or take your nephew home.

He has Pro-Life parents. They are teaching him what is age appropriate.

You'll get no flames from me. There are so many better ways of taking a stand for life, including the use of the debated images in a manner which will not horrify and traumatize kids.

I lock out most of the channels on our tv. I monitor every book and magazine that comes into our home. I know every note of music my boys listen to. I do everything that I can to introduce them to subjects when I, their mother, know they have reached an appropriate level of maturity. This stunt knocks me right out of the driver's seat. Boils my blood.

If that is the reaction from an ardent pro-lifer like myself, I can only imagine the reactions of the fence-sitters.

Again, nothing in this article mentioned this group targeting children, so why are you bringing up an irrelevant issue?

Do you have a bone to pick with those people and just needed an excuse to bring it up?

How much of an impact do you think Jennifer O’Neill has had on the pro-life movement? I thought such an important and beautiful actress would get more publicity but aside from Free Republic I don’t think I’ve seen anything of her lately. Her testimony is chilling and powerful.

By your logic, should we wall in Auschwitz for fear that somebody might be “horribly traumatized?
Furthermore, does the Holocaust museum give the curators a bad name?

Guess Phelps is asking Military Families to suck it up, or go home.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see this thread on the DU version of DUmmie FUnnies.

He has Pro-Life parents. They are teaching him what is age appropriate.

So they are shielding him from the billboards, TV and radio advertisements and so forth that NARAL and Planned Parenthood put out? If not, then my original comment still applies.

Yep, that's what he's saying. And the motorcycle guys are telling Phelps just to go home. LOL

So you visit DU often?

No, it’s a discussion. We discuss. We talk about our past experiences. It happens all the time here on FR.

And actually, YES. I have a bone to pick with these truck drivers. I am strongly Pro-Life and I’M offended my the lack of concern for preschoolers by these people.

They do tons of good targeting who they should. NOT by targeting preschoolers.

The MSM would NEVER cover her the way she should be covered.

It’s a pity.

They’re not quite rolling them into the parking lot of Cedar Point, are they?

EVERY ONE of the exhibits I have seen about the Holocaust have had an age warning on them.

LOLOLOL!
No, to discuss.

I think the first post that stated someone was glad my nephew was traumatized, is the first flame. Who did that?
